Whoooo... Dotcom makes another strike! Don't you have nothing else to do like writing emails with a forged anonymous email address?

Even if I can't read your babble as 'ignored' I smell that you just made another useless post.

It goes to show how pathetic you are by attacking 'a blind man'.

I really don't understand why people thinks Sorapong kicks people's ass?

Maybe that's because it appears so to those who don't know anything about the Thai Language and/or have an IQ of 10 (obviously you, Tomslaz, belong in both categories).

Furthermore, as I requested, when are YOU going to make a useful contribution to this (or any other) thread?

take a break, DrL; despite what you "thinks", you have, over the last two years, made that point -- by both example and incomprehension -- splendiferously clear.

Geez... Does it really matter??? If I said "either" as in "E-ther" or "I-ther" does it truly matter? Because if I truly understood the pronunciation who really cares... Same would apply for "color" or "colour", given the difference in spelling and I thought I was anal!!!!

Nevertheless, not much must be happening to succumb to such petty matters of linguistics (not to start another political war, but)... Language has always been difficult through out the ages, even for those who proclaim they speak the same...

So to continue the banter... What do I know about such affairs... I'm thinking it has to be banter or maybe it's about who has the biggest dick... 555...

For me, I find that transliteration is quite paradoxical given that tonal qualities have not been expressed, with the exception of a few additional characters. Yet, given some thought, I can wade through the intent of thought, inspite.

So what's the problem, guys? This reminds me of a Tibetan story:

"Two monks who had taken a vow to never touch a woman came across such a creature standing in front of a small stream which she was afraid to cross. One monk swept her up in his arms, carried her across and put her down on the other side. Many miles later, the other turned to his companion and said, 'We've taken a vow not to touch women. How could you pick her up and carry her across the stream?' The monk responded, 'My friend, I put her down many miles back. Why are you still carrying her?'"

Yet, some might say that this would not be apropos because I don't really understand the history of prior events... Why does there have to be "Win-Lose" as opposed to "Win-Win"...

Don't get me wrong, further explanation is always warranted... But golly gee wiz... lighten up if you can...

So dudes, chill if you can... If not then have at it... BTW, Chohk dee or how ever you want to transliterate it...

Back to original topic:

1) the word "noi" (like in koh jup noi) --is noi pronounce like noy (rhythm with boy) ?
2) word "Chua " (as in chua mong/monge) --pronounce as
choo-A (the letter A) or choo-ah
3) Pussy --is it Hoi = (hoy--rhythm with boy) or Hee?
4) Is there different words for the words --Hot and Cold--if referring to
a) feeling hot /cold
b) having a drink/food hot or cold
I think Hot=Ron and Cold=Yen?

  • 1 - yes

  • 2 - choo as in who, ah as in "open up and say ah"
note, there is actually a W sound in there, sort of like Chew-ah, as in chew your food

  • 3 - Hoy is fine, Hee is rude (slang for BOX)

  • 4 - nope, it's the same | Rawn (like lawn), Yen

edit in : oops, cutter is right,

naaw is used to decribe oneself as being cold, I was focusing too much on the Rawn part before which is interchangeable

if you use Nao, they might think you mean "rotten", Naaw has a final sound of W

For COLD I believe "Yen" is for liquids. "Nao" is for cold tempurature.

Cold Water - Nam Yen
I am Cold - Pom Nao

Geez... Does it really matter???

Yes, to Sorapong it does! It's the only way he can get off! His wife left him a couple of weeks ago.

Study his plan of attack:

1 - He never responds to questions directly
2 - He waits to either LY or myself respond
3 - And then pushes his ideas (together with a few humorous side notes) in your throat.

Having a better command in English than myself (I am a non-native speaker) he exploits that and let other members (98% don't speak fluent Thai) think his Thai is superior. It isn't....

Sorapong just acts as #1 in the class.... In the past it has been proved that such people lose their fans quite fast.....
