So, since I'll try to minimize my getting lost in Bkk, what is the "official" names and correct pronouncing of the common large (streets, ave, roads etc) that everyone on the street will understand if I had to ask for directions.

Just like transliterations, there is not one which is solely correct (unlike a certain member thinks).
1 - Petburee
2 - Petburee Tat Mai
3 - Ratchada
4 - Asok-Dindaeng (Asoke Tat Mai)
5 - Rama + the numeral
6 - Yaowarat
7 - Silom
8 - Sukumvit

Yeah, better late then never.
But believe me when I say this thread is really needed by me (and based on responses from other members, I guess I'm not the only one that benefits from your teachings.
I had looked at some websites before my initial postings and like I said when I first started this, I was kinda confused cause not all sites seem to have the same spelling for translated words=therefore assume will be pronounced differently also. And this confusion is often compounded by the fact that other members spell them different also.
So the bottom line is this: You (and other helpful Bros) are doing a great job here since you've made learning a foreign language easier for me and most importantly (like what I first posted--I wanted to learn it Correctly).
I no longer have to look at a work and wonder if I'll be pronouncing it right in Thai.
BTW, Your method of using rhythms is great, cause easier to pronounce and to remember.
So, I will still have questions for you guys from time to time but be patient with me, I do appreciate the efforts. And all your efforts are not wasted--I am starting to remember a few things.

Yes, I printed out a copy and I look at it from time to time, so when U see some poor bro walking around Bkk (sometime later this year ) holding a copy of this and scratching his head still trying to make sense of it all---that'll be me. So just flag me down and I'll buy U a beer. Cheers.
