What does the word หอยขม "hoykom" (a river snail, or fresh-water snail, vivipara doliaris) mean in its colloquial or slang sense?
Is it a diminutive form of endearment? Or does it play on the meaning of its two words hoy (oyster or pussy) and kom (bitter) ?
A TG laughed hard when I said that "I miss my little หอยขม", but I have no idea what she understood me to say.

At least that is what Blonk told me....
But I would think bitter pussy is the slang.... my wife always uses the word hoy in slang form when talking about pussy...... and bitter would go right along with the.... icluding how her parents feel.... bitter.... now that I have cut off some of their monthly money.....

Well, as hard core as I am as a monger, I do have a soft spot... they are dirt, dirt poor..... I have helped them for 9 years..... Just a personal thing I guess, my own form of charity, at least I know it goes for the right things... not drinkers, gamblers.. they actually use the money to better themselves.... but shit, I am not going to do it forever....

Well, well, look what the cat dragged in....
Anyways, hoy is used as a slnag word for pussy, but when a Thai orders oysters, they will order hoy..... mussles and oysters kinda looks like pussy, hence the slang..... but to use the word hoy when talking about pussy is impolite. except when you tell your girl "your hoy stinks, go clean in shower".
