I've seen comments that for a US Visa, the US requires that the TG have a considerable sum in the bank but I haven't seen the amount. Does anyone know the amount the US requires?

I looked around the internet, but did not find anything that tells the exactly amount. All that I read was saying property, bank account, ect.

My understanding that it's on a case by case basis. But, my opinion is that if it's a female trying to enter the U.S on a tourist Visa (B-2), then she'd better have "Bank", and also own property or some sort of business.

My friend inquired about one about two years ago. He was told it would take anywhere from 6 months to a 1 year to process everything so that she could enter the U.S on a B-1. With the war and all, that time might have possibly doubled.

If you are very serious about having a female visit you then I suggest you hire an immigration lawyer to help guide you through. My help cut down on the headache's and heartache of going through this process.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the info.  Was at a dead end as far as figuring out what to do to get GF visit to US.  Was thinking about just having her go to Mexico or Canada, and meeting her there.

It is probably 100 times harder to get her into Canada, I have tried before.

I saw on the Thai Embassy website that a Yellow Fever shot and documentation is required for US citizens who have visited some Latin countries recently.  Brazil was on that list and I was there last year.

My question is will I get hassled by Thai customs if I don't have YF documentation?  Or should I go ahead and get thet shot, which I'm reluctant to do.   Any help would be appreciated.

Will the 100,000 Baht deposit account qualify if it is a joint account (you and the TG) and requires TWO signatures to withdraw funds?

This way the TG will not be able to make withdrawals by herself and there is an account with a balance of 100,000 Baht in her name.
