I am planning a trip to LOS for the first time in December. So far this forum has answered most of my questions but I do have a few more (these may have already been answered also but I failed to find them).
1. With regards to dress, from what I have heard Thailand is a fairly warm country (anything over 20oC is warm for me  ) so I was going to take shorts. From what I have read, the Thai don't like shorts that much and prefer long pants. How true is this and would it be disrepectful if I did wear shorts (neat, casual shorts)?
2. I'm keen on trying new food (I have already had Thai food back here in Australia but I'm sure it doesn't compare to the 'real thing') but I'm not too keen of anything TOO hot. Would it be impolite to not finish eating something and request something a bit tamer?
3. I have noticed that 'farangs' are sometimes charged more for certain things at certain places. Whats the reason for this? Am I likely to find that I will be charged a different price at many places?
4. Finally, do the prices quoted for 'services' provided by the BG's and MP girls change during holiday season? I don't want to sound like a scrooge but also don't want to "drive up the prices" for everyone else. Do the girls charge/expect more during 'peak season' or can I expect them to remain pretty much the same?

hi,good to see another brother join us.
shorts are no problem,many people walk around wearing them.
my choice is wearing them during the day,but at night i tend to wear jeans.
but if i've been out all day and enter a bar or go-go at midnight,fine,and the girls are more then likely to run their hands up inside your shorts and touch you.
food is good,but can be hot.
i find the thai's love their chilli and a lot of food is cooked in chilli.
but if you do not want it hot,just tell the staff 'no prik[chilli] and they will cook it without.
every meal comes with liquid chilli which the girls will put on their food,but if not for you,no problem.
no problem if you cannot eat it all.
many times i have gone for a meal with a girl and have only ordered a beer,knowing full well she will feed me and share her meal.
not a 'cheap charlie',just that i find it hard to eat sometimes and a few mouthfuls are sufficient for me.
price is up to you,i find they do not change from low/high season.
in my opinion[i may be wrong],but never pay more than 2000 L/T.
if they know you are a 'newbie',then they will try for what they can get.
just smile and say no,sorry too much and move on,unless she is the girl of your dreams.
if you say no,then the price will often tumble,it is a buyers market and you are in control.

For Phuket 2000 is the UPPER limit for LT
After 1 AM you can get for 1000.
You have to work a little harder in high seaon to get the 1000 LT as there are more punters but should be no problem
Shorts - No problem
Food - most of the place make there food "farang Style" so not to hot.
99% of the tourist places will understand if you say "not spicy" in English
Yes there is double pricing. Not a bad idea to get a TG to go with you if you are sightseeing as she will help to keep the cost down
All of this is relertive to Phuket. I will leave the BKK bro's to answer for BKK

I pay 500 for s/t and 1000 l/t in BKK & Pattaya. I have only been turned down a couple of times. Some guys like to pay a whole lot more. OK by me but my money goes alot further.

I'm with you BigDUSA. Max is 500 ST and 1000LT. Usually I try a little less and then hit those marks with the tip......haven't had anybody leave pissed off yet.

I agree. I also like to give a tip very much dependent on services rendered. If you pay high it leave little room to give a tip and still get a good price
Sometimes I will tell the girls that i will give a tip depending on performance.
Oftern in Phuket you will get the "up to you" when asking for the price and have never had a problem with the girls paying around 700 Including tip for ST and around 1000-1200 including tip for a Long, long time IE 10 pm to midday the next day.
Mind you - you can always go to Soi 11 in Phuket town and get a shot for 400 Baht - but need to know your way around

These remarks do not apply to Phuket/JJ as I have thus far not been there, but, as a Bkk resident, what is it with you guys? 500 baht ST and 1000 baht LT were the bottom end 15 years ago when the baht was $1 = 25 baht, that made the ST rate $20 and the LT, $40.
The exchange rate is c.42 and you are still thinking in terms of 500 baht and 1000 baht?
Firsy of all this will get you labelled as cheap charlies.
Secondly, don't you like the girls you are f_cking, at all? A wee bit of generosity isn't going to kill you, is it?
Or are you just into grinding the faces of the poor?
I dunno where you hang in Bkk, but you won't find those prices prevailing in Patpong at all. There you will be paying 1000-1500 for short times, and you will have a problem getting anyone to go for all night, period, unless they know you.
I can't speak to Pattaya because I avoid it for the fifth class cesspool that it is.
Treat the girls like human beings, and they will be grateful for it.
By the way the "up to you" ploy is an attempt by the BG to go fishing for a newbie sucker. Don't accept that as a license to be cheap, though; a scene will result. Instead, make your deal in advance, just don't try to be a bottom-feeder kii niaow, and you will have a better experience for following my advice.

I think your advice is sound. Certainly the posts that I have seen on here would seem to confirm your prices but I have little experance of BKK
I think it also matters about what sort of experanace people are looking for. I would think that most visitors are looking for the GF experance and I would agree that being a Cheap Charlie is not the best way to get that and by paying a little more you can get back so much more
For me (and only my opinion) I do not look for the GF experance. I am not that oftern in the market for Pay for Play and usually only when I am "escorting" others around the night life
I am also not a sexual dynamo who needs or wants 3 rounds per night
Most time I take a girl for a very quick round - Blow and go- and then just enjoy the rest of the evening people watching or just hang out.
Late at night as the bar closes I will take a girl overnight
and not play until morning.
I just get horrified at the prices some will pay, 5000 + for short time ans I think perhaps I am advicing a little bit strong.
However the prices I have quoted here for Phuket are the Normal prices for the expats or frequent Visitors - The chances of a fresh Faced punter getting those prices are slim. And oh can the girls spot the fresh faces
Like any place in LOS your face gets known amounst the girls and they know me as a good sort - no rough stuff - polite and respectful. They seem happy for me to take them at this price especially at the end of the night as a night with AC in a hotel room with hot water shower and a 1000B is better than the alternative
Certainly for the stunners and for the GF expernace you need to be paying more. Always hard to advise on prices as you do not know what the Bro is looking for so I keep it low rather than start them high.

So going from what JJ and CJ said, if I want to make an impression on the girl I should find one after closing time, bargin a cheapish deal (1000B - 1500B for LT) and then tip her well in the morning (500B tip?) for a job welldone. (just to let her know I appreciated it)
I don't want a GF so I'm not looking for anything more then the one night. Would this pass as acceptable to you CJ?
