I am comming from Korea and I have all of my money in Korean Won.
would it be best for me to change it into dollars and then baht?  Or should I just go strait from won to baht.
Will I have a problem changing won in to baht in Thailand?
Right now the dollar is shit for korean won.
1,000,000 won gets you about 800.00 dollars.
I am not a math major so I am really not good at this stuff.

Thanks for the advice in advance

Beware that the banks or money exchangers in BKK did not accept any USD notes older than 1990 when I  was in LOS in March. I never got a full explanation why, allthough I asked the hotel to enquire.  They just did not take them. I got by with my Master Card on the Cash dispencers, though.

If you have ATM card that's part of the CIRRUS or PLUS network you should have no problem using it in Thailand. I always bring a mix of cash, American Express travellers checks and credit cards. I always call credit card company before I leave and let them know I will be using the card in Thailand. No problems using cards.

story for you all.
with 2 girls and in the morning they wanted to leave at 09:00.
had no money and said i would change some and see them that night, they were regulars and i knew they trusted me.

however they wanted money straight away,so i had to get dressed and go to an exchange booth at 09:30 in the morning.

one of them gave me a 1,000 won note and asked how much in baht?.
in my hungover/tired state,i looked at the exchange and told her 400-500 baht.

'change it,change it for me' she demanded and i did so for her.
the actual amount of 1,000 won in baht is 27 baht and can you imagine the look on her face when i handed it over?.
her friend and i were in hysterics and wan also saw the funny side.

there r a few money changers at the international terminal airport in BKK. i suggest u change yr korean won directly to thai baht. if u change it to US$ then to thai Baht, u suffer a loss of double commision. regards.

Using ATM's, do you get a rate of exchange for dollars
equal to what the local banks will give you for cash?  Or
is it better to bring cash, travelers checks etc? If you
bring cash what size bill is best?

If you are going to bring U.S currency, the best is $100 bills. You get the best exchange rate. Also, make sure they are not the older bills. Sometimes you will have problems changing them. Never use my ATM card. Either cash or VISA!!

U welcome!! Glad the information was helpfull!!

I have heard horror stories about the ATM's eating peoples cards and such. None of my friends have ever experienced it, but I did not want to be the first!! ha ha ha!! So, I just carry cash or use the VISA card. 2 months back when I was in Thailand, I noticed many signs in the currency exchange window saying they will no longer accept Visa Travelers Checks. Not sure why, but that is what was posted at many places.
