I use http://www.nobelcom.com thailand cellular. they have 6 different cards you can buy..each one bills in different increments. I use the $20= 160minutes card..seems a good deal to me..it has 1 min rounding for the billing..check the site out and pick which ones best for you..just don't ever use www.urtalking.com....I'm still trying to get that damn charge cancelled for the card I never got...bastards

I've used nobelcom.com in the past and I don't use them anymore. The rates you see on their website do not include tax and fees (they mention this vaguely only in the small print). As a result of a lack of disclosure on the actual fees, I've never been able to figure out their true charges and doing the math on the balance of the card always leads to strange numbers.

i use http://www.thaitel.com there are many differnt options depending on what type of quailty you want and price you are willing to pay . When i bought my first card through them it took about 20 mins to activate. Ever since my first purchase i've been able to use my pin 5-10 mins after ordering.

I just signed up at http://www.nobelcom.com for their calling card to call Thai cell phones at 8 cents per minute. There is a $2.00 processing fee so I guess the actual rate is 8.8 cents per minute. They promote 1 second billing so I'll let you know if it works out. I currently use net2phone which is 8 cents per minute to hard wired phones and 15 cents per minute to cell phones. Bottom line $22 for 250 minutes.

This is the cheapest I've found:

They have one card at 1.5 cents per minute but they tend to get you with rounding and maintenance fees. The Mega Clean and Stable is the best "no catch" card at $20 for 600 minutes which works out to 3.33 cents per minute. These are all local access rates from CA and they have several other states, too.

As you can see from the thread further down, it seems as if us Brits have cheaper rates than you Americans. Only 1p a minute for us. It's a mystery as to how they do it. It's a lower price to phone a mobile in Thailand than it is to phone a UK landline during half of the daytime hours.

England is closer to Thailand than the US, thus they have to use fewer electrons to get the message from the UK than from the US, thus causing their costs to be cheaper, thereby passing these savings on to the ever deserving customers they so thusly service.
It is basically the same principal as to why you get sunburned more on a tall mountain than at sea level. 'Cause the mountain is closer to the sun.
Geeze! Do I have to do everything around here?
