Rezyek is right. We need a little more information on what level of hotel you're interested in, what activities (besides partying) you're into - diving, sightseeing, etc. Good websites for hotels in Ko Samui and Phuket: http://www.latestays.com For BKK: http://www.planetholiday.com (haven't been to Pattaya) Once you have an idea of your hotel costs, I think you will find that US$100/day is plenty to take care of partying and all other activities other than diving in Phuket. Of course, this is assuming that you're not doing multiple ST and a LT every single day - and it sounds like you won't. If your airfare (try Bangkok Air for cheap flights) and hotel average out to US$100/day, you'll be fine with your projected budget. Keep in mind, though, that depending on your lodging preferences, high season cost may not make it feasible to hit that target; check out those websites.

Hey brother Don, welcome back to the brotherhood. It's been a while since you paid us a visit. When you say a two Thailand trip do you mean 2 people or just you for 2 weeks ( With that much traveling around I'm assuming the 2 weeks ). If it is just you then even though you're going during high season and prices will probably be a bit higher, 200 a day sounds reasonable, especially if you plan on limiting your P4P activities. Maybe bring 1 extra days funds as a safety net. Have fun. Peace

"i estimated $200u.s. per day" If your talking about 1 person at $200USD per day for 2 weeks I would say that is plenty enough to do almost anything you want. That is my exact budget and has been for the last 5 years. I usually have a couple hundred left over as a matter fact. Now, I am assuming you are not including hotel and airfare in this projection. For me, the $200 USD per day is strictly for spending money while in the Kingdom. Airfare and acommodations are separate. When I am planning my trips I usually budget as additional 1000 USD for airfare and 1000 USD for hotels. For a 2 week trip (14 days) I am usually looking at a grand total of 4800USD - just round up to 5K. "i dont plan on p4p everyday, but factor it in anyway, i rather overestimate" Smart move. 200USD per day should allow you as much p4p as you want - as long as you reasonable know what the going rates are. "bkk-->.pattaya--->koh-samui--->phucket--->bkk" So ambitious. I would hate that. Your hardly gonna have time to relax. For me a two week vacation would be spent at 1 or perhaps a maximum of 2 of those places. I always find it better just to show up in BKK and decide where to go and what to do once I've arrived. Many years ago I tried making meticulous travel arrangments, but I have found that in Thailand so much can happen to make your plans falls apart that it just aint worth it. For me it is always easier to just land in BKK and play it by ear. I've done an itinerary like the one you listed - but I was in country for 3 months on that trip. It would feel like work for me if I had to do it in 2 weeks.

Full stop. You're doing way too much traveling for just two weeks. Classic rookie mistake. Change your plan to a maximum of three destinations, like BKK-PTY-Samui-BKK. And when you're in a place don't change hotels unless the place is really unbearable. You'll spend too much time packing/unpacking, checking in/out, taxis, etc. It's a holiday. A "down to the minute" timetable is doomed to fail unless you work at it harder than you do at your job back home. If you've got the back to lay down US$200 every day, that will work just fine. 8300 baht is a hotel room, 3 meals, 2 barfines, 1 ST, 1 LT, 12 beers and all the taxi rides you can stand and still money left over.
