i will visit bkk within a week.
will stay there for 3 weeks.
where is the best place to get a cell phone?
i need it mainly to get phone calls from home and to call inside Thailand.
could you please advice where to get one and how much to pay? any good deals out there?

Upstairs at the MBK Centre (Fl 3 or 4). For MBK Ctr take Sky Train & get off @ National Staduium. Go thru Tokyio Dept Store & take escalator to top fl & exit right into MBK Ctre.
There a squillion dealers, some also sell second hand mobiles as well as new ones. A SIM card with a Thai # cost THB300 from Orange Dealer. This worked out THB100 for # & 200 for calls. Calls are around THB2/min. There a plenty of other dealers.

if u r near nana and u need a 1-2-call sim card go to Jay Mart near soi 1 (near KFC). only 300 baht.
Try to avoid the mobile shop at soi 7 ( and the open food center ), the asked 800 baht for the same sim.
