I was wondering what kind of job can a guy such as myself get in Thailand. I am from Hong Kong, but I don't speak Thai. I was wondering what kind of opportunities are open for me OTHER than English teaching.

How about teaching Mandarin? Perhaps Cantonese?
But really, most jobs, you'll run into a Thai nationality requirement.
Expat jobs usually have to be secured in the home country first. But if you get one, life is easy as pie here.

Well, I have a few friends who have always been thinking of an excuse to come here. And I suggested, why not set up a company and be a shareholder, by paying a token sum say, US$ 2,000 (to cover operating expenses and parties), and then we will hold bi-monthly shareholders' meetings, and then they have an excuse to attend!  Each shareholder will receive bona-fide looking faxes from Bangkok announcing the shareholders' meetings.

What's wrong with teaching English? I teach at a government university in Bangkok, and make 25,000 baht per month. I only teach 12 hours a week, and am free to come and as I please. I am free to teach private students as well. I get 3 months paid vacation between March and May, and 3 weeks of paid holiday in October between semesters. My classes are 90% cute 20-21 year old Thai girls! In December we have a 3-day "teacher seminar" (holiday) in Surat Thani-paid by the university. I have a Thai doctor as a private student, and he has given me a free exam and medicine. I have another private student whose parents own a hotel in Koh Samui, and I was flown there and given a suite AND salary to tutor their daughter! Tell me what other private-sector firms offer these benefits? I was laid-off three times in my accounting and management career in the U.S., and have become fed-up with the "rat race" in Los Angeles. To be fair, I have an M.B.A. and am a native speaker of English so my teaching options are quite good here.
There is a great demand for Mandarin language teachers here, but I don't know about Cantonese. Japanese is also wanted here as well.

Depending on which schools you teach at, the pay may vary as well. I know a Filipina girl who gets about 40,000 + and you could always do some extra private tuition classes to supplement your drinking habits. I know of teachers who make in excess of 80,000 B/month.

and the demand for english teachers should be rising, alot of thai parents are keen that their kids get the best education, and now theyre back at the level of affording such extra lessons, taught by european or american native speakers. What you definetly need: your golden framed certificate with a posh sounding issuer, and same style certificates for the kids which pass your class, sealed in red wax, with pink ribbon....
