But ... eating at a japanese restaurant for dinner and MK for lunch for two can at times get pricy.
Not that pricy! Unless you are eating Fugu and Kobe beef, I can't see dinner for two at a nice Japanese restaurant in Thailand costing even 2000B. Assuming you ordered wine or expensive Sake then at most another 2000B.
Can you give me an example of how you typically can spend, say, 5000B on dinner for two? (Which leaves another 3000B+ for breakfast and lunch.)
All I want to say is that your prices are ridiculously inflated and that noone should even think to use them as a real guide.
Assuming you were a well off american and wanted to live extremely well in Bkk, I'd say budget 500B for breakfast, 1000B for lunch and 2000B for dinner. If you get a bottle of wine with dinner it's probably going to be another 1000-2000B. Certainly you could go to the nicest restaurants and order 5000B bottles of wine, but you wouldn't do that every night.
Of course, you still eat at nice, clean restaurants (and bars) for under 1000B B, L and D. And if you are on a budget certainly can get by for 200B or even a 100B per day (not counting alcohol).

I'm only budgeting $ 1000 US dollars for 6 days in Bangkok. I don't drink liquor and I'm sure that there will be some hot female interested in shagging with a 6'4", 220 good looking guy from the US. Plus , I'll be in Phnom Penh for 2 days before this with a budget of $300 US dollars. I heard that Phnom Penh is somewhat cheap for food and women. I did check out Tony Roma's Ribs in Bangkok and the full slab of ribs is only $11.75 US . Any more info on food places will be greatly appreciated. I'll be in Phnom Penh January 3-4 and Bangkok January 5-11. Thanks Again !!

BB69, food is very cheap in Thailand, especially if you like asian food. If you insist on eating farang food (like the ribs, hamburgers), etc. it will be relatively expensive. Typically, Thai portions are much smaller than restaurants here so you might have to order two dishes, but at 100-150B each it's still cheap.
If you want, you can compile a list of different major touristy restaurants to hit during your stay. However, if you just show up and play it by ear, you'll still find great food everywhere.

If that's your budget and you can live within it, then great for you.
As you can see, mine is a little higher, but that i what I chose to budget for my trips. Budget does not translate into spending that amount. ha ha ha!!

But my situation is a little diffent in that i dont go to LOS for a 2wk vaction etc. I leave everything I have in N.America and put down some roots in LOS . I am young with an education and a fear of being bolted down by a career in my field which would lead to me having to incorp. and sign my life away etc. I instead work at shitty jobs (well not that shitty) for 8-10months and then live abroad till the moneys gone. It works for me and im due for 'another trip around the sun' spring 2003! I'm so excited already and it is 6 months away. Ohh yah can you feel it boys Fanta is coming back, its blowin in the wind...
what am i try to say... i am not critizing anyone for how they choose to party in LOS.. I want to embrace everyones dreams and goals for LOS! Much Luv brothers, much luv!

ABC post a reference budget. Take it as that...as a budget....I'm particularly happy having expenditures for Ý50K/month....I live in a nice apartment, eat always outside, have drinks with the brothers almost everyday....pay BF here and theee, visit clubs a bit often and screw the TGs I like.....take it easy guys....everyone gets different budgets for different purposes and at DIFFERENT places....
