http://www.moneygram.com - similar to WU, is probably the best, as it is not such a rip-off, and theyn pay out immediately, at most Banks in Thailand, AND at the days current currency rate, not a few points below as WU do ! Fee for collector is 200 bt, you need to send the TG a 7 digit number, plus your name - she needs her ID or passport.

Similar to what SO5 suggested.
1. Go to the local bank in .............. set up a joint or new single account, your name and maybe hers, get 2 ATM cards and then post one to her. (No risk when I did it with the express registered post, as İthe account only had $20 İin it.)
2. Then email her, her pin number.
3. I then use the internet banking system to transfer money fom my main account into this new/joint one and she uses the ATM in.........(its an immediate transfer).
Pay a Monthly Account Fee of about AUS$2 and she pays AUS$4 per withdrawl or check on balance.
UPS & DOWNS:
Only down side is that she doesn't get the best exchange rates from the ATM conversion (normally about 5%less than street value).
(a) Upside is that I dont have to give it to her all at once each month and then have her say after one week, "I'm broke - no money". Send it each fortnight so she learns how to budget - at least thats the theory?
(b) If you break up with her just cancel the card by phone-as lost or close the joint account.
In BKK - Cirrus & Maestro cards can be used at the Bangkok Public Bank ATMs and some others banks, also at the ATM near the Landmark Hotel

Hey Ducks,I bank with nab.they may charge that amount over the counter at the branch.
When I have t/t money over its done through my
company ac,could be the reason that it is cheaper.
Ask at your local branch,also I do a fair amount of t/t`s.

I have had it working in three different countries for five years now. Just have to remind the girls not to place their ATM cards in the same pocket as the mobile phones or on the TVs.
f_cks up the magnetic strip on the card and they panic, thinking that you have cut them off from their life support(Money) or dont love them?

I sent 16,000 baht to my TG to pay for the rent on our place in Soi 1 in advance. I used Western Union and it was a piece of piss.
I went to the Western Union website, located the nearest bank to where my TG lives (the one that deals with Western Union), went to my Post Office here, forked over $650 and filled out a form. Told my TG to go to the bank, she filled out a form and they gave her the cash.
