BeegMember, your biggest expense is going to be accommodation. I would suggest that instead of staying in hotel, choose an apartment which is a little out of the way. Why? It is a lot cheaper. Take this place for instace.

Since you are not working, you have time on your hands, so spend more time on travel, and some money as well. There are buses and SkyTrains (although that isn't always cheaper).

Thanks BK, good info. I'm planning to visit LOS next year (I hope) and I've bookmarked the site.
You know what's really funny, when I stayed in Pattaya, I started laughing uncontrolably when I saw my TG's room, it was larger than my shared college dorm room that I share with 2 other people (who are complete nerds,) and have to pay a LOT of money as rent. It is hilarious as to the lifestyle I have now and am working towards for my future.
Enjoy the 30K, it can be stretched to a good extent if you are imaginative. Else if you find a manipulative BG, they can make the 30K part from you in a few hours. My TG was bragging to me in an email about how she got one old Brit to part 20K in one night. Suddenly, I didn't feel so sad for her 
P.S.- I still love her(as a friend) and wish her the best and most profitable days in her career. My only wish is that she is always happy. Which can be tough for a person in her position.
Asusual I have gone off in a tanget. Forgive me. I am lonely after LOS and have nobody to talk with about LOS. They just wouldn't understand.

i have thb 30k to play with and another 10k thb ( in reserve just for emergencies) and dont worry i wont let my TG know abt it (unless absolutely necessary).
additionally i have a few(male) friends in Bangkok , that i can trust, so in case anything happens i have a support network.
Ayran6: Yeah I agree, after my last 2 LOS trip, I just couldnt stop talking about that place, that i just had to find someone to talk about it ,and i missed the place so much that I started hanging out at Golden Mile complex ( a shopping center, in singapore, where all the Thai people gather) to relieve my LOS sickness.
Interesting fact: Many Issan Women are working in Bars in BKK and Pattaya, A lot of Isasan Men are working in Singapore as construction workers (yeah, the food stalls sell plenty of Issan food too)

Here it is .... review of Intercourt Apartment.
(BK, move at your discretion)
Intercourt Apartment is located in a small residential soi of Sukhumvit Road. Its 160 rooms are situated in two separate buildings.
Guest are comprised of thai people, 'nikko's (African bros and sistas), and westeners.
Rates range from THB 2,500 per month (small room without air) until THB 5,000 (double en-suite room with 2 air conditioners). Please consult their website for info about rates.
A major plus (and can be a major minus) is that, because the apartment is in a low rise residental area, it's very quiet even if you sleep with the balcony open.
I rent a double room (en suite) 43 sqm room for THB 5,000 per month. I think it's a good deal. In addition to the rent electricity is around THB 300 and water THB 90 per month. (I don't use the airconditioners because there's enough wind and the fan is sufficient).
Most the general information is to be found on their website, so I won't bother you with that.
Plusses:
- Although the building looks a little rundown,the rooms are quite clean and well maintained.
- Very quiet
- Reasonable rates
- deposit (1.5 month) can be paid in three installments
- Free motorcycle shuttle between Sukhumvit Soi 71 and the apartment
- Good location (Ramkhamhaeng, Petchburi Road, Sukhumvit)
- Rooms are ok
- Meals are available downstairs (standard fare, reasonable taste)
Minuses:
- A little distant form the main road.
- Motorcycle service is not always available (90%)
- Building looks a little rundown
- Supermarket has only a small assortiment
- Staff at times unhelpful (you have to push them sometimes)
It is a policy to lodge Nikko's (African bros and sistas) on the second and third floors.
(For those interested, yes, some of the sistas can be found in the Nana area)
If you would like to stay, try to get a room on the seventh floor (most quiet, although a little hotter than the floors below.
To finish off, I am quite satisfied staying there because it's rather quiet. But take a look for yourself....

Ok, just did the math. Here is how I blew my 850 Euro's in 10 days.
Manhattan (10 nights, incl breakfast): 10.100
Laundry (should have bought new stuff): 500
Food & daytime drinks (don't waste money on this): 2.500
DVD's & Souveniers: 2.100
Eden (incl drinks and Tip): 4.500
5 MP's (incl drinks and Tips): 13.000
1 BG (LDs, BF,ST): 2.300
I HJ Bar (raped and robbed): 1.200
LDs and drinks for myself: 3.000
Sky Train (avoiding cabs & tuk tuk): 1.000
Total damage 40.150 Baht
So, I have to say that 30.000 Baht won't do it for me. Actually, I was planning to visit the up-scale MPs next time so I'll need more money.

I am back from an exhuasting trip:
heres how i spent my thb 30K
Hotel: at 700 baht per night ( 9800)
6 MPS trips : plus tips 3 fishtank girls and 3 sideliners.
,(13500 Baht)
Food : ( stay near to ratchada) : plenty of cheap food around, spent only average 50 baht per meal.
transport: took taxi if more than 2 persons travelling.
and the bus if travelled alone (must be able to Puut thai nid Noi). I realised BTS is expensive if travelling in a group.
as for clubbing. i spent another 6 K baht on sharing a couple of bottles with mates in da clubs ( Nah !Dont believe in drinking beer , when clubbing in thailand).
in the end. just managed to survive on 30 K baht , plus a bit of extras.
