Hermanolobo, I use Siam Commercial Bank (SCB). Have a home loan with them, VISA, checking (Current) account and Global ATM. The best benefit of all is I get to go right to the front of 50 Thai people every time I go in the local branch. I do not know how I rate such service, but I love it.
BTW I used to use TFB, and while I had no problems it was a hassle and long wait to get things done. I think they are too big.

Lucky you ThaidUP. At Bangkok Bank and Thai Farmers, every time I have gone to a cashier, I have had to queue like everyone. I guess I am small client for them.

If you observe properly, you will find the word "English" amongst all the Thai text, press the button next to it, that will get you the English language menu.

Manuel, I suggested this option to a friend who went to BoA Sukhumvit 25 yesterday and was told that to open an account (savings or otherwise) requires a work permit. This is consistent with my own understanding of how other banks operate as well. Maybe the rules have changed since you opened your accounts.

Strangely enough this seems to happen so now and then. Do not know why. To open an account it is not a requirement to have a work permit, it only seems to be used to refuse certain customers. In the past the expaination was that due to the uncertain economic situation there was an over supply of funds at some banks. The banks were not willing to invest due to the 'bad loan' problem. This should not be an excuse anymore
Ask your friend to send an e-mail to the branch manager of Sukhumvit 25 (Kobchai Thanasukarn). He might not know my name but I am always greeted by him when I come to the branch. When you contact him directly he might invite you to open an account. Give it a try and let me know.
