- quite believe a soi 7 girl has 200K in her account, in fact many would apart from the fact if not their parents with the hand out, its their friends, - and un "buddist" like to refuse a loan , which of course translates to a donation ! A girl smart enough to keep to herself, budget, and not have to send money off home, is going to do much better than the 7/11 worker ! Of course basic Thai culture, if you have money, spend it, - on the other hand, there are up-country FAMILIES who exist on 2000bt a year !! Problem being once the girl has seen what its possible to extraxt from the "farang" I guess its hard to go back to planting rice .

About loans, I don't mind loaning someone who is hungry, but if the loan is to payoff gambling debts or feed that habit, forget it. I once advised my ex-TG of this. She was simply helping her friend to continue gambling.
It is also my believe that if you have money, you should spend it! or most of it... need to keep the economy going.

-correct BK, gambling/drinking and of course buying Yah Bah seem to be the main expense of not just the TGs, but their familes ... very close to home, I can relate my in-laws, who fortunately my TG had the strength/commonsense to distance herself from, had a windfall 2 weeks ago, the husband of an older sister, sadly killed in a car accident, apart from sending them a monthly salary of 10,000 to care for their 4 yr. old, sent an extra 50,000 bt as it was 3 years since she died, and "tambon" or a special occasion at the temple called for, further good fortune when "mum" won another 20,000 on the lottery, - another sister in Bangkok, was quick to buy, show off the gold she brought to my girl, before heading upcountry for the ceremonies ..... end result, not hard to guess, we get the phone call today, money/gold all gone, can we send the bus fare from Udon to Bangkok !! T I T.

We are now in the 21st Century and water buffalos are obselete.
Nowadays, TGs don't talk of water buffalos - they talk about 'TRACTORS'. You would often hear this now " My family's tractor has broken down and is beyond repair. Can you please send XXX,000B to my family to buy a NEW tractor. No tractor, no rice to eat, all die. Please help"
