Well Barra stranger things have happened. In fact, I have never been in such a place as Thailand where people carry huge amounts of cash around. They never seem to heard of checks, wires and such.
Many a times I been in banks where Thai's are getting close to 1M THB counted out by the money machine and then just stuff in in their purse or messenger bag.
A few years ago, some woman pearched herself on top of a billboard at Carrefour department store and would not come down until the store agreed to replace her stolen truck.
Well the better story was some stupid Thai parked in the store to watch the spectacle and left about 25K USD in their vehicle of which he was followed out of the bank that he got the money from and the opportunist broke the window and took the cash. LMFAO

bearing in mind the biggest bill is $100, why not try and play the forex and bring it in in euro notes, a 500e means less volume to carry as its 5 times less notes (for arguments sake)
likewise in dubai 1,000dhs is $275
swiss francs have a big note too
but 500euro notes are easiest to travel with but sometimes a bummer to exchange
1m us$ fits in a medium size suitcase but weighs 20kg
so if u ever meet someone who says he has a carrier bag with 1m cash in it he is a liar. especially if he is nigerian and needs $5k for some chemical liquid etc etc

I do believe the US$ is available in sizes much exceeding $100,,, although not currently in print.
Also talking about better looking money,, the Aus dollar maximum note is $100, but released gold coins have values greater than that ( and are legal tender).
either way its usually 2,500 BHT l/t,,,,LOL

Mel's right about USA bills.
500, 1000, 5000 and 10000 USD bills were circulated until 1969. They are now being withdrawn from circulation as they are retured to Treasury/Federal Reserve. And, there was a 100,000 note, which was never in circulation but only used for transations between the US Treasury and the US Federal Reserve Bank.
