When I started going to LOS the US$ was 25 baht. Prices seemed pretty reasonable then. When the baht weakened and was 40 to the dollar it seemed cheap indeed for what was available. The dollar has weakened now so that makes things a little more costly and I think in general baht cost is up a bit for girls, hotels food etc. Having said that to me it is still about value for money. When I recently spent 11 days in BKK with airfare included and all the pussy I could handle I spent around $5K US. I could not have come close to the same experience in my home country for that price. Well I might have been able to get laid as many times, the GFE/PSE would not have been even close and the hotels and food would not have compared. Yes, it is getting more expensive. With that I agree completely but I think, at least for me, the value is still there. Maybe not forever but at least for now.

Depending on how it goes, I can easily rake up a bill of 20,000 B in just one hour! On my last visit, I managed to cap it down to 3,500 B for half hour. I spent the rest on the TGs this time. It was about 10,000 B for the night.

Maybe me too.....
Recently did 15 days detox nil alcohol...with 2 hours gym ( 4 days a week) and low fat diet.
Lost 4.5 kilos and felt great.
Even now only a few beers twice a week.
But think about stopping for good.?
No question good for health and bank balances and clarity.
But what kind of knotted up arsehole do we become off the piss?
Sensitive and over reactive?
Maybe?
The Pattaya girls need men on the booze some are so ugly
But the average Joe might see an ugly lady and say "" two more beers and she might be alright""
Life's too short to abstain completely...
Well maybe not......
That's a point though haven't the price of drinks spiked up a lot over the years.?
Still get places in Pattaya selling cheap Changs and heinkiens....
But some Go Go tabs are heavy.
If you start touching up the girls before bar fining one and buy some drinks and hit it hard yourself it could be better being a Daffy or Doc Love.
I mean next question here guys......."" what percentage of spending does alcohol play in your over all expenses?"?
I would have to be honest and say 2000 -3000 a day...
Includes several pool side....or beach....
Go Gos and dining......easy to do.
So my guess is 20-30% of total.
That's about 75,000 to 100,000 for me over 3 trips a year

It'll be for 1 year. I have done 1 month before. Starts today.
I'll think about the low fat diet. 
Percentage of spending on alcohol? hmmm... that's a tough one, sometimes, it's 50%, sometimes 100%. The problem with drinking is that I tend to go over my budget for the night, so I overspend! And worse of all, I have no recollection of it.
And there is no point in going to bars and clubs if I am not going to be drinking alcohol... I won't be playing with bar girls anymore... well, not in the bars at least.

As with all things balance is required. I hate drinking in gogo's because the majority sell shit booze in short measures. I want quality in everything I consume.
I will quite happily sit in TQ1 (one of my most favorite places on earth as long as the smokers are outside) and drop 10/20k bht in an afternoon session on booze food and LDs just because its outrageously good fun to be surrounded by gorgeous gals (yes they get better looking with more beer) having a great time.
However I agree LOS is getting more pricy but right now I dont care it is still too mutt fun!

I dont drink much, so it will be exceptionnal to spend 1K in drinks in one day...one of the reason is I m working in LOS and cant be hangover the next day. When in pattaya I sometime drink more, but its very rare I get drunk....
So even if I did notice the increase in drinks price, it does not bother me much.

Prices across the board have gone up in the last 7 years about 40% when playing in the gogos. Bar fines that were bt400, and bt500 are now bt500, bt600, with drink prices going up about bt30, and bt40 a drink, even for soft drinks. The other factor making up the increase is the baht going from 40 to the dollar down to 30 to the dollar, plus a little change left over.
The service hasn't really changed, just the venue it is available in. To expect any establishment to stay the same over time is foolish. It just doesn't work that way in any business.
Just as it has always been it takes searching out the gems from the bulk of the trash in any gogo, and the LT price hasn't changed that much over the years. Bt2000 still gets you what you want. You might not find it in the establishment you used to look in, but they are still there if you venture around looking.
Since I quit drinking alcohol the quality of the women I see in the gogos has went down. Not that the management has changed hiring policies over the years, it's just that I can actually see clearly now.
If I wanted to I know I can still go out and get LT for under bt1000, and not with desparate girls. I have a girlfriend now, and I don't cheat on her, but I still know what is available, and how much they cost.
The venue I would be shopping in has changed, but not the quality of what I used to get for the same prices 6 years ago. The only difference is the baht to dollar exchange rate.
Granted living here has opened up different venues if I was looking, and I can actually not have to spend money for the same services if I wanted, but the attached baggage I might not want.
Drinking alcohol severly affects rational thought, and spending becomes very recklass. All the money in your pocket has a strong chance of being spent, and then some. The casinos I worked in in Nevada for 37 years were built, and expanded on the exact same principle of what alcohol does to rational thought.
Hookers know this, and work it to their advantage, both in LD kickbacks, and in long term hooks planted to extract more funds. They all don't look like they did when you took them home, but quite a number of men get hooked by the nice treatment, even though they don't look like the "model" they remember taking back to the room after spending bt10,000 on drinks, and bar fines.
DG, you are spending way to much for what you are getting by a long shot, and of anyone here you should know that. Just like a number of foreigners from some close countries to Thailand try to impress their friend with by how much they spent, it does not equate to quality, as they, and you foolishly believe.
It surprises me by how many of the same mistakes you repeatedly make for how long you've been coming here. Some might say it is a clear example of how alcohol affects rational thought, repeatedly.
