I absolute agree with ABC. I had an experience with sponsoring a girl in MP. I was hoping to help a nice girl out of life in MP. I was spending close to 100,000 baht a month to sponsor her and her family. The money is not a big issue. But the emotional issue is. The emotional drain is just too much especially if you live in another country and unable to sort out the issue personally.
I think thai girl are wonderful, but if one does not live in thailand it is often very difficult to make this kind of relationship work. Sometime, I even think I should open an office in thailand just to make the relationship worked. I wish the best to anyone who is thinking about sponsoring a thai girl.

I had an interesting experience once. I was helping out this girl, sending her 20,000 B a month to cover some expenses and to pay for her English language course. I was expecting that she would keep her current job as a hostess in the Japanese lounge and that the money was supplementary.
Instead, she stopped working altogether and lived on that money. She even bought some gold braclet. She then tells her friends that she has a boyfriend from Singapore (me!) supporting her.
After 3 months, she was tired of me asking when she was going to start learning English, and I got tired of asking, so the sponsorship stopped.

Some things I observed about Thai girls and money.
They can never keep it long enough on them. They will buy some piece of gold, thinking that they can pawn it off when they are in dire straits, which they shouldn't have been in if they had kept the money properly.
Some of them gamble it off. A favorite past time.
Remember, most of them were formerly very poor, i.e. that's their comfort zone, so if they happen to have lots of money, they will be out of their comfort zone, and start spending it all, until they reach that comfort zone.

Sad but true. Many working females live for today and do not think much about the future, in terms of money. It is either buying some jewelery, drinking, smoking, gambling, or even loaning it to their friends. ÝThis is of course after making sure their families are taken care of. Also, since the business they are in is mostly a cash oriented one, they don't have time to deposit it into a bank!!
It's the easy come easy go mentality. Not that what they do is easy!!

Good point guys. I know a girl at BARON's, which is making 50K/month average. She is nice and almost 29. Yes, she came from a poor area and after 7 years "selling body" (they called this issue like that) she got a car, an average room, pays monthly fees of the sisters' school, give regularly 5K to her parents and expending very few thousand baths in stupid things. Thus, you guys are right, the experiences here will show everybody to NOT fall in the trap. I agree with JUNIPER and ABC. Really sorry guys, you've learned through the most painful experience by having nice "emotions involved" with these cuties. A brother broken-heart was the result.
I admire you guys, being bold enough in sharing experiences. BK, good point to open this issue to the brotherhood. And yes, the girl at Baron's I was talking about is Saeng.

As I read these comments it occurs to me that maybe most of us are closet evangelists. Are we all trying to get the girls out of the businesses that we all love? think about it. Why are the girls good enough for us to want when working and suddenly once we know them as real (or perhaps phoney) people we want to convert them into what they were not when we met them.

probably i am an evangelist, but it makes feel good when i see somebody, who did not have the chance for study or any other eductaion is able to get a chance. a chance the rudimentary virtually not existing social system inthailand does not grant to most of the girls who are not from a certain background. so for th emotoves i totally agree with all of you (abc, juniper, etc.). it is just that for making it work you have to be very close to the girls (living in Thailand or being at least 25-50% of the time in the country), otherwise things can not work. also spoiling them with big amounts of money does not help these girls to sort their lives out, it does make it evenmore difficult as they now have a lot of money and more time as they are not working anymore. at the end of the day makes most of them crazy partying around, gambling or taking mental enlarging substances.
if you want to take a girl out of the mp or gogo scene "have to" make her swallow a bitter pill facing a hugh cut in her monthly income, for stability. you will only get these girls who easily make 50-100k a month to go to school or stay with you, when you scale down their income to an amount of +/- 15k a month which is just enough to survive in their former life style. if a girl accepts this steep cut then you will know if they really love/like you or are trying to get their chance at university/school. every higher amount won't challenge them to take their chance as with that amount of money there is to much around them to distract them from they were supposed to do.
so scale back to the mentioned minimum and you will know if they still part of you or not!
p.s. at the moment i do have to girls in sponsorship both going to university and bith on a thb 12k monthly sponsor. okay both are wimmering but the fact that they sticking to it and not working and the scene anymore makes me sure enough that they are really willing to want an exit out of the scene and finish university instead. (at least for the time being, who was what is going to happen next in the LOS!?!)

alot of T I T here, and not on the gilrs chests, I would say from what i see, maybe 1 in 10 sticks to her end of the deal in a "sponsership" - they are faced with so many additional influences, for 1. getting money in a bulk amount, and they CAN NOT budget, 2. They have to tell their friends, as it makes them feel important, however then the friends want to borrow from them, they can't refuse as Buddah would not like that, money never repaid, and then of course, as the girl has some gold, money etc. all of a sudden she becomes attractive to Thai Males ! - who live here, and believe me do have a big advantage if they are serious. Still, all that being said, we will all continue to "donate" in various forms, be it even only 1000bt for a ST, - just put it down to Assisting youth in Asia, or some such worthy course.

Now that I have started this budget topic, I started asking lots of girls that I meet, about their monthly expenses.
A bar girl (bartender), I know, tells me she spends only 700B/m on her room (shared with 4 girls), she eats twice a day, 25B/meal, transport 30B/day and she sends 5,000B to her mother. She makes probably about 8,000-10,000 B/month in the bar.
Just had a girl from CM2. Single, student. She had a Singaporean sponsor, who sends her 25,000/month. Her apartment, including utilities and phone is 7,000/M. And when I ask her if that amount was enough, she says it rarely is. She doesn't know where the hell it disappears too. Her sponsorship dwindled this month which is why she was at CM2.

Thank you for all your support. Of course, when I sponsor the MP girl there is self motive. She is an intelligent, gorgeous girl with an amazing body. But, I truly want to help her move out of MP. I was hoping that with the money she did not have to sell her body anymore. Communication difficulty and distance ultimately predict the demise of the relationship. I think all of us, when we decide on sponsor a girl, we are hoping to do a good thing and sex part is actually not that important. When one think like that, emotion became involved and the roller coaster starts. Maybe, Casey is right, that we should treat this as a game. When I sponsor the girl, I was a newbie. I think I learn from that experience, but deep inside I am still hoping a better ending. But as butterflyboy said, maybe I was wishing to buy love which never works.
