No, I guess I couldn't keep up the sex all-day everyday for the rest of my life. It would just get too boring. And besides, there is so much more to do in life.
So I guess, by some research (Stickman et.al) 90,000 baht would be super! Especially if I fall in love with a good girl in LOS

livng on 90k a month is nearly impossible, if you want a decent appartment in a good location you will have to spend already on third of that.
i usually need about 300-400k a month. that gives you a lot of fun and drinks, some p4p girls and also some regulars. have some money for weekend trips by plane for two, staying in 4-5 star hotels and have some decent money for dining and wining in the right clubs! but still this lifestyle would be far from hedonistic in my point of view! take smegmas advices, i think he knows quite well who much a hedonistic lifestyle costs!

You know how the "carrot and the stick" can FORCE people to really wake up and take charge of life. Well, LOS has done that for me.
The carrot being the LOS lifestyle or Bond lifestyle without the guns and spies, but still the martini and Aston Martin.
The stick being the sedentary 2.5 kids lifestyle that I have ahead of me if I kept living my life the way others expected of me.
I know that I might fail miserably at achieving anything... but I am NEVER going to give up. I am going to work harder than ever to chase the big dreams. And so what if I fail, I'll atleast not wonder... what if I had done this or that?
Atleast that's the path I have chosen now, I don't know whether it is a prudent choice, but I don't care anymore

this is an interesting topic .. certainly you can live very well on B300K per month, but hedonistic?? I don't think so.. the penthouse with the pool would cost B150K minimum .. then the girls that fit into such a scenario are the B4K per night type.. so that is another B120 per month.. whoops the money is damn near gone ..
I have a friend who retired there .. has about US$6K per month and lives very well, but still has to watch his money a bit .. this $6K is tax free as he has investments in the USA that pay the tax ..
Comparing how he lives in Bkk to how he would live in the USA is where he comes out a big winner.. no way could he have the same lifestyle.. not even close

i think here we are missin da point: hedonistic is related to the love for beauty and beauty is not strictely related to expensive...or at least not to "extremely expensive"...
i believe that man can live very well in LOS, having available a budget of 150,000baht per month:
35/40k for accomodation (do we realy need a private pool????)
15/20k for F&B (drinkin Dom Perignon everyday makes you sick..)
35/40k for P4P (lot of medium/low chicks or a couple of hi-so only)
50k for miscellaneuos (clothes, week-end travel etc)
IMHO, goin over 150,000baht per month is not hedonistic anymore, it's silly extreme!

A hedonistic lifestyle and a pleasurable existence are not at all co-terminous. I've come across several determined hedonists who were bored shitless.
As for money - well, after a certain (in LOS, fairly low) level, the law of diminishing returns sets in with a vengeance. You just start paying ever greater amounts for ever smaller increments in satisfaction.
Stayed in LOS for a whole month as a rich tourist once; could have anything I wanted; got bored silly during the final week. I take my pleasures now as and when I can find the opportunity and spare the money - and, I think, appreciate them one helluva lot more.

Thanks you guys. From the lifestyle I would want, I guess 300,000 baht a month would be enough. Actually a lot less. But after much thinking, I don't think I would enjoy a hedonistic lifestyle 365 days a year.
I mean, it wouldn't be meaningful for me. I need some creative outlet and just sex, parties and good food would be fun for a few weeks max.
But apart from that, I think to live a good life in LOS, I would probably want to have 300,000 baht. But that is a LOOONG way off.

Ya, I guess it adds more value to the experience when you know that it is scarce, and have the ability to contrast the pleasure with normal daily life.

I could retire to Bkk on more than B300K per month, but have not .. 3-4 months a year there is plenty for me.. I have a condo (2 BR) and my g/f stays there when I am not there..
Too much to do in the USA to be in Bkk full time .. nice to be able to do both

los is as most know, a place that the aspect of money is for our time, always on your mind. each morning you reimburse the wallets previous nights/damage..and arcadius is right it gets worse... the best trips i have had is paying for most of it way before you leave..and trying not to beat up the visa card too much......you can be hedonistic on 100,ooo for a month.. but the heads just dont look as good......

I would think 50,000bt a month would be enough if you had a real gf and 100,000bt without should cover it easy. That would reduce over time by a fair bit.
My advice to anybody planning to retire/live in LOS, would be to buy a condo after spending a year there at least. It takes time to reduce your overheads.
