Shredded Wheat
We get by on approx THB10,000 per week and have a great lifestyle up country.

Our house is our own. We have Sat TV (plus the free Thai satelite) so I can watch all the sports I want and Mrs S can watch all the Thai soaps she wants. We eat out every day for breakfast and 4 or 5 times a week for evening meals. I have my internet access. Mrs S has her Thai gambling. I get through 1 sometimes 2 boxes of Leo a week (sometimes Archa if I'm feeling like a cheap charlie). When I fancy a treat I get a massage in the local town - its THB300 total for an hour thai plus an hour oil, and THB20 tip. Our monthly electric bill is also covered in that weekly budget (typically THB 1800 will cover it if we use the aircons).

We do not farm and we are not farmers. We have a decent sized garden (2 rai) which we potter about in, we share that with our dogs and currently 9 chickens.

We also run our Toyota pick-up and a motorbike within that budget.

The times when the budget goes out of the window are on occasions like Visa runs (I do Nong Khai its 4 hours from us), side trips to Pattaya, Hua Hin & Bangkok for holidays, and when we need important maintenance work doing around the house.
