Personaly I have'nt tried to start any new buisnes on an import export baises, I just made money coz somebody wanted what I had. So you're right CJ, and my luck on the marketing aspect fell completely from one person likeing what I had then word of mouth. I did'nt make a million dollars, but I actually paid for hotel, food and drinks, and all the girls that I was with. This is not bullshit it happend. When I can tear myself away from this forum long enough, i'll get back to marketing on the internet or somewhere...

Chateaujade, I'm going to disagree with you on that one.
Business failures can occur for a number of reasons other than the fact that it wasn't a sound idea.
So you think that because someone asks how they can make money that it's a silly question.
Well, no. On one level, surely it's the energy and enthusiasm that could make the difference between one person's success and another's failure. What may work for one person may not work for another.
You stated that you have ploughed a lot of time and money into a business and you are not even sure it will work. Your advice is that is how a business goes.
Wrong! I started in business with zip.
I simply brought new thinking to existing ideas.
Which, it appears, is what you are knocking.
Yes, so I'll recap; I spent little to none of my own money(probably less than a £100) and none of anyone else's and built myself an income that affords me to have almost 365 days yearly to do as I please. I'm in my thirties and I've been 'on gardening leave' for something like eight years now. Maybe I'll go back to work, maybe not.
I have heard you dispense some good advice while I have perused this forum. This wasn't such a time.
I have a few good examples of businesses and people who started 'unlikely' concerns and grew through their individual approaches to become successful.
Monetary income is not difficult to generate. It is what you are prepared to do for it that is the biggest hurdle.
If someone has the drive, let them utilise it.

I think his point was that no one is going to hand out a roadmap to such a business for free. I note that you don't describe YOUR business in detail here, for the edification of those who would have your level of income and free time. If I had a good idea, or a proven business, I would not give it away either...
Other than that, I agree. Not all successful businesses require huge cash outlay, or time. I hear the lottery can be quite profitable.
Lottery: a tax on those who can't do arithmetic.

I am certain with a post like the last one you will be innundated by people only too willing to profess boundless energy and the right stuff for you to like them.
Seriously though making $$ is usually about hard work and sacrifice. You state you brought new thinking to an existing business, and it was easy. Well that certainly is excellent for you and I for one am happy for you. But what you are saying is that you have marketed an idea and have been successful at it.
You further go on to state you have built it into a good earner, once again you built it into something that gives you 365 days to do as you please.
All of this is excellent for you, but had you shared it with others at the time it would not have worked as well - now would it. Take this along with any sharing you would do would halve the potential profits and I think you may state your willingness to assist others, but I am unsure if it would be in your best interests to deliver.
It is not that easy, and I cannot imagine you would be that willing to share.

Making money is as easy as you want it to be, I have started an importing business from China and Thailand to Canada. I did a lot of research on my last 3 or 4 trips to LOS and now have successful business that is growing very quickly.
