Just to add a note to previous info: Some go gos have stunners who won't take a salary (so as to avoid the hassle of following the nitpicky rules) and just work for drinks, fines and tips.
Re penalties/ salary cuts; Believe it or not, it's not unheard of for a girl to wind up OWING THE BAR money at the end of the month!

i know about the system with the cut the girls get from drinks/BF.
just saying thay that it does'nt seem to be the norm when concerning minimun amounts each week/month,but i may be wrong.
my girl got 30bt for each drink bought and 150 of each BF.
she actually used to give me the slips to keep in my wallet until time for her to cash them in.
but told me(as did the owner of the bar),there was no minimum target.
if she worked 11 hours a day,she was paid 10,000 a month.
if she worked 6 hours,she was paid 5,000 a month.
whereas an english friend of mine who owns a bar,pays the girls no salary,but has a house where they live rent free and all meals are on him.
when i took my girl home,she was away from the bar for 7 nights and i had to pay bar for her on the first night and then the last night.
the 5 inbetween were no problem and she still got her full monthly salary.
this subject is a conundrum.

There is one girl I know that commands 200,000 - 300,000 baht a month every month , shes not a bar girl ,she has worked the bars massage parlours ect but got out of it , she's very good looking ,charming and gives great service ,her clients will tip high and treat her well ,Indians , Arabs , white ,black ,asian really anyone with enough money to pay her , she is well organised and has a good team of girls that watch her back and help her out , her secret ??? She targets wealthy business men , Directors ect visiting on Business assuring discretion , it works really well for her and she enjoys the gifts of purfumes , jewlery dinning out and dancing .I guess I would put her in the league of one of Bangkok's top free lancer's and you will never see her in any of the Bangkok clubs!!!

Good info!! The amount that you speak of is very reachable by many enterprising females. Knew one that made over 200,000 baht a month, which also include some sponsorship, but her clients were wealthy and tip very well. Of course, she was very good looking, spoke english very well, and did target who she thought were wealthier clients. Or atleast clients that would take care of her.

the averge bar girl or go-go girl will not earn this amount of money.
unless they are very popular.
on one trip i saw a good looker being BF'd every night S/T,me being one of the customers.
if this happens 25-28 times a month then with her salary,this equates to around 60,000 baht per month.
still a lot of money for the girl,but nothing like the 200,000 a girl might make in places like soi 33.
i am very naive about BKK,but read other peoples posts and i gather that places like soi 33 are different to the bars and go-go's of thailand.

I agree that the average bg will not earn those amounts. Unless she is sponsored. Then .. sky's the limit!!
But ... even 60,000 is a nice living. Unfortunately it at times is easly come easy go. I have only met one female that was able to save her money and get out of the business. Forget getting out of the business, many females live for today and spend everything the make. Which is sad. Means they do not have an opportunity to get out of the business, unless they marry.

agree 100 % ABC, mind you, alot at the other end of the scale probably have to get by on 5-10,000 a month, still guess thats OK, when you consider working in a department store from 10am till 10pm 6 days a week nets around 6000bt a month.

It just goes to strengthen the point that "sex" sells. And I mean "sex" in general. Does not matter where the females are, the strippers/working females will in general make more then the professional ones. Or, I should say, their earning potential is more.
Talked to a stripper in Las Vegas .... while I was gettin' a lapdance!! ha ha ha!! Anyways, she make over $100,000 working part time. She used to be an engineer, but found that she could make more money and workless time as a stripper.
Anyways, just goes to show why the industry always is thriving!!
