My question is the exchange rate going to change dramatically whether up or down from the 1st of april to the middle of april when thai new year starts.

You could also just look up the historical data on the internet and decide that way. But as previous posters have indicated....how rich I would be with a crystal ball.

Let's get realistic. Even if the Thai Baht v US$ rate moved substantially in that couple of weeks, such a move is hardly going to make a massive difference to your holiday, is it?

What is a 'substantial' move? 10%? Not many currencies fluctuate that much in so short a time. If the Thai Baht strengthened 10% from it's current 38.5 baht to the dollar, we're talking about it moving to around 35baht. It's hardly the end of the world when it comes to cashing a couple of hundred bucks for beer and pussy money, is it?

These currency fluctuations only really matter if you're shipping tens or hundreds of thousands of bucks around the world.

stop worrying.

Atm is the better,if is a Visa even more.
TC are a waste of time
Cash is primary but risky to carry around in big sums.
For me DADDY ATM has always been helpful, but got some issues with the card while I were on holiday.

1-ever keep the card in the wallet if u have a room with air conditoned who turns on only with the key in the switch,,,i shitted in my pants when in Patong none of the ATM worked with my card...it's been smagnetized by that f***ing key,,,mistakenly I put it into the same belt bag.
had to go to Siam Commercial bank where they'd "click clak" my passport and atm card and lend me the cash...did twice or thrice too,and it's a cost of 25 euro for any transaction, let me say DAMN!

2-i've exceeded the monthly limit of withdraw and again no ATM worked out,,,
been to a dozen ATM on suk and all of them said "service not available at the moment" ARRGH!
had to immediatly call the bank and make them raise your limit the morning after.
being suddenly without notes to spend (or a few of them) and no way to withdraw it,is what I call PANIC while in LOS.
