For my next trip in May I plan a budget of 10k/day.
In fact I use to stay in hotels or serviced apartments between 2000-4000 bt/room.
As I am a soi 33 addict the prices of the barfine is higher than average and the lady's fees are negotiated between 2k-4k maximum.
Count that, though not being a heavy drinker I pay a few glasses + LD.......
As I usually bring her to restaurant you have to add food+drinks.
The total can vary from 7k/day to much more as when for example I meet other board members so the bill of the drinks can be quite high.
Now this is just my case so to each one his own tastes and budget.

The bottom line is that you can make it as expensive or cheap as you want it.
If I had limited funds, I would rather stay a week and not have to hold back on my funds, then stay two weeks and have to scrimp it out.
If your funds are limited, a good solution is to monger around for week, and then hang out with a GF for another week. Hanging out with a GF is normally a little cheaper then boozing and whoring P4P.

Well if you factor in the cost of a first or even business class ticket to Thailand from US or Europe, and you stay a week or so, that can add a lot to the cost of a trip. Such a ticket can cost between 400000 baht to 120000 baht. Divide that by say 10 days, and you get 12000 to 40000 baht a day alone. You want go el cheapo with an economy class ticekt? This may cost you about 40,000 and still adds about 4000 baht a day for a 10 days stay. So getting to LOS is what may cost more than staying there in some cases...

from dubai to bkk rtn in biz on ek is only 40,000tb
and in fact my girlfriend buys all her tickets from her agent in bkk - she gets business class on emirates bkk dxb lhr dxb bkk for 70,000tb
it costs me 110,000tb just for the dxb lhr bit on emirates

I was giving you the range of prices for a business and first class ticket from both Europe and the US. Depending on what you fly, from where, and how you get your ticket, it can cost up to 400000 bhat first class from the USA yes. Anyway, you can factor in a much cheaper ticket, such as economy and still that could be as high as 4000 bhat a day for a 10 days trip from the east coast of the USA.

first class from new york on emirates direct to dubai is 216000tb and then biz class is 40,000 direct from dubai to bkk
anyway I know u were just summarising but I think u over dramatised!
u can easily get an economy ticket from uk to bkk for 10,000tb

Not that I would ever be in the UK,, my ancestors had to pretend to be thieves just to get the boat out of there and get to the promised land down-under.
Either way 23,300 is still a good deal to get out of the bleak, grey and dreary mother-land.

So I do not want to fly with Emirates first class. Then what? Maybe I preffer British Air, or Virgin or Singapore... The point is that you could pay as high as 400000, not what is the cheapest way to fly first class or business from the UK (most flights cost very cheap when going to/from London but not everyone lives in London). The point is that for some people the expenses in thailand may be less or comparable with what they pay for the air ticket to get there. Not for everyone, but for some. If you can find a better deal good for you, there could be others however who don't care for a "deal" and want to just enjoy and have the money to spend so a "cost of a trip" can be higher than what it costs to you which is the subject of this thread. Just because you can find a specific deal from Dubai does not make it to be the standard cost for everyone else. Not at all over dramatizing, I was paying as high as those amounts one time or another to one place or another.... Now as for you saying you can "easily" get an economy ticket (assuming round trip) from London to BKK, for 10,000b now that would be a fantastic deal. Have not seen one as low as this, so perhaps saying "easily" get such a ticket is over dramatizing it a bit?

ok u seem to have misunderstood my post
emirates are supposed to be one of the pricier airlines, I was pointing out that even their full fare first class from nyc to bkk is half the price that you quoted for an airfare, I was querying where you got that figure from of 400,000tb?
everything is easy if you know where to look my friend, thats why god invented the internet and search engines.
