$US hit a BIG low yesterday,, 29.6 to the BAHT. Has since fought back to JUST over 30. But the back to 30 was from a slight weakening of the BAHT,, the US$ continues to bleed like a shark attack victim, and the Croc's are circling.

Big article in paper states they are implementing stops on the downturn. They are going to run it back up a tad. The local exchange places were all a little higher today than last couple of days. 33.25 was highest I sawe on dollar today

yesterday got 24.87 baht for one coloured dollar (aud) at my bank in Sydney, that's the lowest rate I've seen for two years. Some Thai friends in krung thep, who're in the exporting biz, are complaining about baht's strong performance, I do too but for opposite reasons. Funny world innit?

24.87 ?? you got robbed.
26.65 is about correct,, so paying near over 8% commision.
Last week I sent across AUD and after exchange commission got 28.4.
This difference in on-shore and off-shore pricing can't continue,,, so get your doillars over there no matter what colour they are.

yep, but let me qualify my post. I just purchased odd 15,000 baht to see me thru the 1st day or so in krung thep (I arrive late at night and wanted to have a few baht in my pocket), the rest is in AUD TCs. I wouldn't dream of purchasing my daily baht cash requirement, here in Sydney. When purchasing foreign currency, all banks rob you blind, everywhere in the world.
When I make bank international transfers I get an average rate of 28 something

No worries Sarge,, I normally just grab a few thousand BAHT at the airport exchange.
USD Vs Thai BAHT 29.94,, even AFTER Thailand dropping interest rates that normally sees the currency value fall.
Expect at least two more interest rate drops in Thailand this year, to try and stimulate the economy and to try to lower the BAHT.That will open opportunities for those that already have Thai assets to grab some cheap loans and re-invest. The base rate is now 3.25 %,, maybe 2.75% by years end At that time if you can get a fixed interest loan at around 5% for 5 years grab it.Quality Condominiums or solid shares would be the preffered investments.
Those interested in a HIGH risk stock investment in Thailand PM me. I'm in for 100,000 BHT and looking for another 100. As I said high risk, do not bet what you cannot afford to lose 30% of in this case.

WTF my wife is correct...the new govt is crazy...she said sure thaksin corrupt but thailand better with him... every high govt peroson in thailand corrupt...I guess its true but I asked her why the people stand for it, she said becuase they have the gun...you not scared of the gun..so cute
she added "has new govt forgot about south thailand?"
My wife has given me a "hall pass" to have a guys 10 day holiday with 2 of my best friends and we had planned on Bangkok, ko samui but I am thinking vietnam now...

Alt., if you don't mind me asking is that your family? both cute, BangkokBadBoy has some interesting reading right now about PP Cambodia, myself i'm keeping A.C. in PI. as a possible alternative for a vacation this Nov. 1200peso, bf & lady @ 45 to 1 I myself much prefer LOS but if this xchg rate worsens much more i'll be heading there, oh, I like the blackjack bet, i'm no expert but I think the military guys are going to send LOS into a crash before the elections, who's gonna stop their corruption? answer, NOBODY, like you mentioned they got the guns I know MG won't agree & no doubt he knows the numbers backward & forward, but I think it will be interesting leading up to Nov.
