I sponser two of my wifes kids girls 9 and 10 just basic
thai living food, clothing, shelter, school.
Nothing like the amount you mention though.My wife and son are with me in europe giving too much means it goes to the wrong people in my opinion.
Her middle daughter who is married stays with them, pays the electric, water, part of rent ( I pay most of it, means they have a place otherwise have to stay with his family )
Of course its never enough, if you sent a million a month she would complain anyway thats my experience when my wife was in thailand with my son 5 yrs ago, in my experience testing the bounderies of how much can be got. I found when I say no, and keep saying no money comes will appear from somewhere or she gives up.
No idea of your situation also none of my business but mine was always complaining the money was not enough for milk for my son etc, actually found out later on it was enough just not enough for the rest of the family lol
of course part of it is the prestigue, having a falang and showing off, the trips to the mall.
Must admit I found the bill for nursery a bit steep, mostly the family take care but again up to you.
Are you able to get any of that back from the tax man,
im trying to check this now. where I am they stopped child support to kids outside the country and tax rebate
to gifts to grown ups. but its slightly possible that money can be rebated if you take care of your own kids.
You may have to prove it goes to your child, i.e bank account, then again maybe your loaded and dont worry about it
Togeather with the money my wife gives for the eldest uni gal its a tidy sum per annum I could put to much better use. lol
Just hope the two youngest marry falangs and I get a good portion of the dowry lol.
no chance with the eldest bit of a Tom anti men, no chance to get her married off

Sponsorship amount should be $00 or 00Baht. You DON;T get what you pay for. These girls laugh at us. Girl tells you "you are the only one for me" (at that particular moment anyway). Keep your money and spend it while you're here. Take it for one who knows. I spent probably 100,000 bhat on sponsoring. Many (if not most) have multiple sponsors. Just my 2 Bhats worth.

if a girl has any hope of leaving the business, she will need at least 40,000 per month. Anyhting less than that doesn't work, she needs to provide to the family a truck, more land and a new house. In fact, you should figure 40,000 gets her and the family by on a monthly basis, the truck, land and new house will all be extra on top of this. If you are prepared to go this distance, she WILL find a way to get the money for the other things.
if you plan to sponsor a girl, just follow a few simpe rules.... 1) Get her out of Bangkok and away form her friends 2) If she has to stay in Bangkok, buy her a lap top and web cam with her EVERY day and night. 3) get access to her email 4) have total access to her phone, so you can at will view numbers ans messages 6) well. you get the point.
Treat her like you would treat your farang girl, full and complete disclosure. If you go out f***ing, so will she. If you build a decent relationship, it can work. But be ready to fully support the whole family. This is a genralization, I am sure there are girls out there that operate a little mosre differently, butdon't count on it !

When kids are involved it's tough...the money you send for them goes to the family and yes it's never enough..We all know how much it costs to live in Issan and as much as I try and do the right thing for the child I know the money will for the time being not be spent the way it should..As the child grows older this should become easier as I will have more control but for now I'm f***ed.
Sponsorship is a losers deal all the way without a child involved..but you have to lose to learn I guess..if you can afford her and don't give a shit then enjoy but if not you need therapy quick because you are the only one losing as her and the family always win with you and the others she has on the side..l

the issue is not the amount, rathe rit is if that amount is a big deal to the sponsor.... Sorry guys, but 40,000 per month ain't a big deal...... these girls can pull down double that (if she is good looking) monthly so if you want he rout of the action, you are going to have to pay up.
Now the other issue is on what level is the commitment. Here I agree with you guys. If this is just going to be a grilfriend and you have no intention of taking it to another level (marraige) then you are wasting money. If you are building a relationship that is oging somewhere, then the money is no wasted.
You hit a point where things get serious and the money is not an issue, nor more than it would be in your home country with a girl.
I ended up marrying my girl, I give her monet, take care of the family and much more, but our level of commitment is much greater than what I think is discussed here.
Would I give a girlfriend money to claim her as my own? Nah.............

as I said I give because I don't want my kid to be without,
the familly don't really get a look in as my tgf is a tight cow with all of them,
however the child is innocent in all of this and at £300 + a month it really is peanuts compared with a kid with a fallang girl in uk and then she may leave you for someone else,
girls are the same the world over, you give love, security and more their ok,
at least if the worse comes to the worse at least i'll get my kid,
who means the most to me, a shag can always be had anywcan be found, but a child does not deserve any of this.here,
