Besides $250K in cash, always keep a balance of liquidatable assets at hand. Good picks of stocks & bonds, a condo in the right slightly upper class neighborhood/ taken care of hood, a good vehicle / used acura/ honda / cedees, household furnishings, a decent but profitable small business that when you need to sell they will quick with some residual value.
Live with good surrounds and friends cause the unforeseen will always nip at your ass in the middle of the night. Friends and family will always give a hand.
AKA tax man !! job/business lose, divorce, accident, and so on. We come into life with nothing, and something or someone will take everything we own and worked for away before or when we pass on.
