True some small business are hurting (retailers) mainly gift shops, we can buy online from the US and this is what the big players eg Jerry Harvey is on about!
Why would people want to pay $120 for a pair of Levis 501 from a department store when they can go online and purchases for $60 from the US
Gerry Havery is a billionaire retail giant and sales are down due to this fact,but who cares about this guy that has had in to good for decades.
The Real Estate boys are crying also 5555 who cares if there sales are down and the wage has dropped from $300, 000 a year to $250,000 poor bastards!
There also had it to good for to long, we've had to much foreign investment pushing up the prices, and paying overs making house and land prices out of reach for first home buyers.
I'm in small business and import from China and sell online so the low US $ is a bonus for me as the Chinese only accept US $
Australia has nothing to worry about it's still the land of milk and honey, and if you want a job there there.
And the travel sector in Australia are down also due to the fact of your low dollar, Australians are BIG oversea travelers about 70% have a passport and it's the best time to travel abroad it's cheaper for us to travel to Thailand than say from Sydney to Cairns (Queensland) and our money goes a long way in ASIA
