My "budget": $3000: airfare $750/dy: hotel $300/dy: food $200/dy: alcohol $25000/dy: women Is that helpful to anyone? Of course, I don't always spend those amounts, but I like to have a little padding. These numbers are just as valid and useful as ABCs, which is why I didn't bother to f_cking post them in the first place.

Chompoo: If that is your budget; great. I reread the earlier posts. Why don't you and a date go to the Japanese restaurant in the Dusit Hotel. Order 2 orders of maguro (Tuna) sashimi, 1 order of mirugai (clam) sashimi, Ý1 order of awabi (abalone), a 1 box dinner with salmon (because the Thai people love the cooked salmon dinners), 4 beers, and rice. And if you only bring 2,000 baht, then I suggest you also bring a credit card, or get ready to wash some dishes. I still stand by my budget as realistic for someone that does not expect to eat off of the street vendors or street restaurants. Next time I guess I should list the places that I eat. So that person can make up their own mind on if they want to eat at the same places as I did, then they might have to bring the same amount. It's not like all your post have useful information in them anyways. How would you like it if other members called your ideaís and posts "b.s"?? Take you post about Saengs pictures. Trust me on this one, but I know a little more about the internet, security, passing encrypted information, then you might think. With that said, I could've torpedoed your ship on that idea like you've done with many other members idea/post besides mine. Does that make your post stupid or wrong? NO! Should I make rude comments toward you on that idea?? NO! Why?? Because it's your own opinion and maybe you did not have the same information as I do. Do you get my point here?? I have no problems with you disagreeing with my budget. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I do think that you have gone out of your way to ridicule me and my post after I explained myself. You do not have to agree with my budget, but a little bit of tact would've been appreciated. I also saw that you posted something about people in glass houses should not throw stones. Why donít you take your own advice?? Bigin, Skip, Cmore: Thanks!! 1st rounds on me .... of drinks and not females. ha ha ha!!

How about you go reread my posts and this time read all of the words, not just the short ones? First, you said that you do not visit the "expensive restaurants". Second, I even countered with giving you the out about maybe ordering the big ticket items like Kobe beef. Third, I did not include alcohol when I quoted 2000B. So now you tell me that you are are eating at the expensive restaurants and you are eating f_cking abalone and you are doing it every damn day? I still stand by my budget as realistic for someone that does not expect to eat off of the street vendors or street restaurants. You're really going to stick by this idiotic statement? We should all tell our friends "If you don't want to eat food from the street vendors or the 'street restaurants', you should budget $200 a day for food." That is just simply absurd. I stand by my statement that your food budget, as described is complete bullshit. Let alone that having a $200 budget and typically only spending $100 or less is also pointless. Next time I guess I should list the places that I eat. So that person can make up their own mind on if they want to eat at the same places as I did, then they might have to bring the same amount. If you want your info to be anything but grossly misleading, you should. How about saying: My food budget is $200, which includes lots of alcohol, but I only eat at expensive hotel restaurants and I typically order exotic dishes such as abalone, shark's fin soup, blowfish, .... As you put it originally, I can't see how anyone could possibly have benefitted from your budget and it only served to show off your huge bank account. It's not like all your post have useful information in them anyways. How would you like it if other members called your ideaís and posts "b.s"?? Actually, when my posts are BS I would appreciate someone calling me on it, so I don't continue to look like a fool. Take you post about Saengs pictures. Trust me on this one, but I know a little more about the internet, security, passing encrypted information, then you might think. With that said, I could've torpedoed your ship on that idea like you've done with many other members idea/post besides mine. I have no idea what ship you're referring to. If you think my ideas and proposals were completely idiotic you should post why and maybe we both can learn from it. Keeping your silence does nobody any good. Does that make your post stupid or wrong? NO! Should I make rude comments toward you on that idea?? NO! Why?? Because it's your own opinion and maybe you did not have the same information as I do. Do you get my point here?? NO! If my opinion is based on a faulty understanding of the internet or my logic is unsound then you should comment on it (assuming you care about accuracy of information). Unless your information is top-secret and you are unable to divulge it then you should share it. I have no problems with you disagreeing with my budget. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I do think that you have gone out of your way to ridicule me and my post after I explained myself. Actually at no point did you ever explain yourself. You got closer with this last post, but you're still not there. How much was this dinner at the Dusit? Do you really eat abalone every day? How much did you spend of the $1000? And which places did you eat at those 5 days? You're under no obligation to provide that info, but unless you can your "budget" still stands as a complete fabrication or exaggeration. At which point did I ridicule you? If you find your self-esteem in jeopardy because of one stupid mistake in posting a bogus food budget, compounded by trying to ineptly justify it, I feel sorry for you. You do not have to agree with my budget, but a little bit of tact would've been appreciated. Tact? I tried that and got nowhere after 3 or 4 responses. I get impatient when people distort the truth or try to weasel out of a previous statement. Put up the facts or admit your mistake, that's all I ask. I also saw that you posted something about people in glass houses should not throw stones. Why donít you take your own advice?? This adage makes absolutely no sense in this context.

do get back to the point Guys ... and this is the "Newbie" page, - have to buddies that regularly come here, both 40-50 bracket, both have money, one guy is frugal, one likes to spend. The frugal guy books in for a month at the Nana, for which he gets a 15% discount, takes the room rate to under 900bt a day, with breakfast, which he makes the most of, he probably spends 300 bt a day on food, and usually has a massage most afternoons, 1500 bt, and gets a girl overnight for the same, from nana or soi 7. The other guy stops at arguably the best place in town, "Emporium suites" the rate around 60,000bt a month, he drinks in soi 33 bars, bar fines top sorts, never ventures out with under 30,000bt in the wallet, a great drawcard I must add !! - end result, both love their time up here, are happy with their routine, get to deal to alot of TGs, one spends 50,000 bt for the month, the other probably 350,000 - what it adds up to, another great plus in the LOS - you have a wide range of price, you can have a good time on almost any sort of budget, - so my advice to the Newbies, basically come here with what you can afford to spend. then make the most of it - if you want to go top class and spend plenty, fine - if you prefer to ecconomise, no problem, you will certainly still have a good time, and get plenty of action, perhaps the girls may be not quite as smart or attractive, but then again, not always the case ....

I'll be over there in January, hopefully! I'll be on a world tour, so my budget for each day is only 2600 (this is for food, drink, and TG's). Not a lot I admit, but I'm planning on staying for 2-3 months so can't afford the sort of budget ABC, and some of the others go with, but then again they are only there for a short period so can have a good blow out. Sounds like 2600 baht will still allow me a good time, just not every night I'll have to bring my slippers, some hobnobs and a good book for other nights! Respect.

What would you estimate is his food budget? BTW, the rate for Emporium's cheapest suites is about 90K now, plus various fees and taxes. Of course, I'm sure that is somewhat negotiable, especially if you have contacts or are a regular visitor.

That should be more than enough, IMO. As you mentioned you're not going to be partying every single night, this will give you a couple big nights a week, the occasional extravagant experience (e.g. Poseidon) and still enough for the rest of the week to hang out playing pool, eat decent food, get traditional massages, etc. If you meet someone nice you may even hook up for a few weeks at say 1000B a day (plus expenses), but if you have to pay the BF every day that might break your budget.

Chompoo: Unless at Poseidon he choses someone not in the fishbowl. Then the price of the female not including tip will blow away the 2,600 baht per day budget. I am using BK's pricing. http://www.bangkoktonight.com/massage/poseidon.shtml Not sure if this surcharge applies or is still being applied. But ... if they do charge this then you can not even go to Poseidon on that budget per day. I am assuming you are talking about the MP ... Poseidon.

He's not going to Poseidon every day; I think you're still misunderstanding the word budget. I'm sure he wants to try out every type of entertainment while in Bkk, so given his budget, he'll have to make some trade-offs. IMO, he should plan on spending 5 to 10K for his trip to Poseidon, which means that for that week he'll have to cut back on other sanuk activities. The same applies to every other activity: he might take a day off just walking around or reading and then go to Eden and spend 5K the next day. That's how a budget works, it's not a fixed limit per day (unless you're on a per diem at a strict company).
