MX31 is as good as totally correct, but come on lads calm down a bit. Where talking about somthing that is fun.
If we start getting all 'heavy' about this it takes the fun out of it.

While I agree with most your statements, I strongly disagree that honesty and integrity are not as valued in Asia as in the West. You mentioned "we are not used to that..." Who is we???
I'm Asian and I have spent half of my life in the West and half of it in Asia. My personal value and experience suggest that Asian valued honesty and integrity as much as any other soceity in the world.
Therefore, please speak for yourself when you make foolish comments like that.
Oh, I forgort, maybe this is one of your cocky way to prove a point again.... that you and you only have no honor and integrity.

I have no real arguement with his sentiments to sponsorship as such...just his methodology....

I share Yurune's feelings of gratitude towards MX for giving us the benefit of his superior knowledge of All That Is True About Thailand. If only I had met him sooner I wouldn't have had to spend 20 years learning things for myself...
OK enough sarcasm and posturing. I too am glad to see a bit more civility from MX and as Yurune and I have both said -- he's not entirely wrong. But I don't blame MIT for being offended and I think MX might consider being a bit less chauvanistic and a bit more sensitive to the fact that we have plenty of Asian members and he is (apparently) residing in an Asian country.
As far as being taught in thier villages about how to exploit falangs...the assumption that it is common and traditional for all Thais to train thier daughters to be prostitutes is vile and simply bullshit. yes generalizations are sometimes necessary for the purpose of discussion but they should be based on what is GENERALLY true. MX's view of what is predominant in rural upbringing is not even close and it is very offensive to me.

This is fun! Even after I wrote generalization alerts, it seemed to be lost in the message. Ask a BG who taught them their "tricks of the trade" and you will find out it wasn't at Chulalongkorn. I am really just poking fun at all of this but now that I see that people are taking anything written in a prostitution forum seriously, I better just change my tone! ;)

Yo Guys,
this is a friend of MX's, call me SC. I just dropped by my friends condo to see what he was up to tonight, only to find out he had been working on his new book, and had stumbled upon this great chat session. j/k
I have just read all responses as well as mx's bold retorts. Let me start by saying I have known Mx almost the entire 5 years years I have lived here, and he is a bit on the cocky side. however, if you knew him its kinda funny, and (Although, I would of been abit more subtle about it) he has a point.
one response someone gave was about people, teachers specifically, ending up with bar girls and getting trapped in a "jaws of life" relationship involving their family and children from other guy's.
To be honest with you, I have been living with a thai girl for about 2 years. By the way, she is a nurse at a reputable hospital here in bangkok. Anyway, she is a widow with a 3 year old daughter. I think I am pretty knowledgable about how the "game" works here, and I can say 100% she will never ask for money for the family. I am fortunate to still have an western income coming to me, so I do feel good to buy them small things from time to time, but I did preface this generosity to her when we started dated (knowing what was possible). I was falling in love with her and not her family, and I did not want to get in the situation a have seen many, many times.
I guess what I am getting at, is that you guys should be aware that these girls are "Maistro's" (sp?) at this symphony, so just know your whats going on before you attend.
In conclusion, A dude wrote something that was 100% right on. That is, its all fun and we should keep it that way. So rock on getleman, and its friday night, go have some fun already.
Oh and feel free to keep slammimg MX, his ego needs it!!!!!j/k

I've been here 9 years and i'm quite happy to say I know f_ck all about the place.
i just want a good time and a laugh ( when I can afford it) does that make me bad?
Why don't you all go and write a book, isn't that what everyone wants to do when they know everything about the scene here.
You should all go out get pissed, and f_ck someone, and stop taking things so bloody seriously.
P.S. I do have a lot of respect for what MX31 is saying, at least he's telling the truth, and not living in some dream world.

I didn't claim to know more though I did mean to infer that I knew as much and for a specific purpose; when someone lectures others in a superior tone it's likely to be mildly annoying to them -- especially if it's a subject they are already aware of.
Once again; most of what I object to is how the message was conveyed and not it's content -- with the exception of the specific points I made that I do not agree with and which I found offensive.
So what if I did? As some people keep saying it shouldn't be taken seriously. I can assure one and all that what is said on this board can either be informative, entertaining or offensive but it's not likely to make any impact on my life in some sort of negative way.
MX: Why would the truth about sponsoring "hurt" me? Why would your supposed truths affect me? None of it applies to me or my situation here.
As for whom taught them about the tricks of the trade: Gee, do you think it might be thier colleagues and their superiors? Never mind. Carry on with your contention that in the average Thai home a decision is made to raise thier daughter to be a successful BG and the mother and father teach them what they need to know. It's indicative of a great deal -- about you.

as for me, I think the issue of integrity and honesty is mute. Asian people can possess the utmost degree of integrity and honesty. However, to all you would be "house sitter's" LOVE (AND HOT PUSSY) CAN MAKE YOU BLIND.
As an optimistic person, I do think there are exceptions, but if they are bar girls they are few and far between.
If you have the money and dont mind spending an insignificant amount of your income on a girl to spend your bussines trips or holidays with, MORE POWER TO YOU!!!!.
