Is it better to change rate at bkk rather at your home town? does this get a higher rate? as over here i can only get $1to $24.

Why not just use your ATM/Check Card? It worked great for me. While my friend was always looking for a bank to cash his TC's, I was able to simply hit the nearest ATM and replenish my wallet in a matter of seconds, night or day. The receipt showed my remaining balance already converted into THB and most, if not all, ATM's did not add any additional charges to the transaction.
