Anyway,
for expats living in Thialand, how much do you guys spend in a month on p4p? I know everyone is different, so how much? Just curious.

I think you will find that it varies so widely, that the info will be useless, UNLESS you are a divorce attorney, trying to nail individuals here 
You could literally spend hundreds of thousands of baht per month at the high-end MPs, to a couple of thousand or less, pulling from the Grace/Thermae/Lumpinee park (not counting clinic visits)...
Hope some expats answer; this could be a GREAT thread.

Most people I know get tired quickly of the hardcore P4P scene and have several regulars for which they don't pay barfines or MP fees. You buy gifts instead of giving cash so it is more difficult to know how much you have spent.
If you ask me how much, all I can answer is: too much !

Bit hard to say - I'd guess about B15-20k in an 'average' month, but it varies quite a lot.
As Marco says, there's a tendency for many people to settle down with a few regulars and cut back on casual one-offs. Over time, it follows that payment to tends to be more on a casual 'in kind' or give-&-take basis than cash on the nail.
Also, I'm not quite sure how to account for drinks, LDs in go-gos, pool bars etc. Quite often, I find that altho' prepared to pursue anyone interesting who crops up, I'm not definitely out on the prowl in the way that a tourist would be. If I wasn't having a couple of beers at a P4P venue, wouldn't I just be incurring much the same expense elsewhere?
So it all gets a bit fuzzy. But I think that's the point - if you live here, the P4P scene and the BGs just become part of 'normal life' rather than something exceptional. Having been a tourist before, I've found that the dynamics of the whole thing change completely.
That said, and as you understand, it's impossible to generalise. The behaviour of expats in this department varies enormously.Ý

Truth be told, I'm already bored sick of Canada (and I'm 21), while I do have a girlfriend, I consider myself a warm blooded man who would like to taste many honey pots if you know what I mean and unfortunately Canada cannot offer that. ÝI start daydreaming when I read those Soapy and Oil message threads... like when someone says, "I happened to go by there that day and stopped for a massage..." ÝOh how I wish I had that option in my life
So, I am seriously trying to figure out what type of a life-style I would like and why and most of all how much it would cost. ÝSo, listening to expats in Thailand kindof might help me "plan" (or atleast daydream) about a life in Thailand

Sensible question. It's a good place to live if you don't weaken but unless you can get over here on an ex-pat corporate package the total cost can get quite steep. In my first years I was out 5 nights a week having a whale of a time and spending on average USD $1,500 per month (inflation adjusted). I used to keep some semi-GF's on retainer to keep costs down. As has been said before this eventually gets old and one tends to settle down for the long haul and now I find I'm spending maybe half that figure.
I would come here and spend a couple of 1 month+ holidays first, get up to Soi 33 meet some of the expat community and get a feel for the place before making any final decisions.

Yeah, the Artists Bars. Very efficient places to burn money. Girls no better than elsewhere (imho), but to each their own.
Honestly, I don't think it's possible to do this exercise. If you came here, the only thing you can predict with any certainty is that you'd go through the 'kid in the candy store' phase and burn through a shitload of cash in the process.
At 21 this might last rather longer than at 41, but sooner or later it will lose its appeal. What you don't know (and I don't think anyone can know) is just how long it will last and what behaviour pattern - and hence P4P expenditure - you will settle into afterwards. The extremes range from total disillusionment & abstinence to guys who have go on banging a new girl every day as a sort of grim duty to self. Ý Ý

One of the best descriptions I've seen in a long time...
That's why my advice is to try it out for a few months, but make a point of living more like a Thai - take buses, eat on the street, get away from the farang jungle. ÝBecause, eventually, when you burn out of the sex-starved farang stage, the reality is going to come crashing down on you: you are not among the familiar and comfortable. ÝEither learn to love it, or be one of those sad, ornery expats who cling together and indulge in marathon sessions of "Ain't it awful".
Welcome to the embittered expat stage. ÝSave yourself the trouble, and find out early.
No offense to PolePolisher, but I think hanging out on Soi 33 (read inflated) with a bunch of expats (read bored) is the WORST way to decide if you really belong in Thailand.

I envite you to come and spend some time with me. I live like Thai people do, I eat like Thai people do, and I make about a middle class Thai wage.
I have been told by many people in the States that it takes a special type of person to move to another country and adapt to their way of life. I call it surviving, and being a survivor.
When you live like I do in Thailand. You have to pick and choose your p4p. You need to hide it from your wife, and still make sure you have enough money to pay the bills.
I would say that I pay less than 3,000 bht per month on p4p fun. Mostly beer and hand jobs at TTM places.
