CallThai has a promotion now of 1 baht per minute (roughly 2.5 cents U.S.) for calls made to any phone in Thailand. Cellphones are included and the rates are good 24 hours per day. Calling Card must be purchased before Sept 30 and is good for 90 days from first use. There is no connection charge and calls are rounded up to nearest minute. I'm currently paying aout 5 cents a minute using callthai so this is a REALLY good rate.

What is the call quality?
That's a good rate for frequent callers. $25 at 2.5c/min = 1000 minutes to be used over 3 mos. That is a lot of "what you do today? you miss me?".
The problem I have had with many calling cards is the delay or echo. I currently use QuickCall or EasyAnywhere from thaitel.com and the call quality is almost perfect, no echo, no delay. But is it just over 10c/minute to mobile phones.

Vonage or Broadvoice -- 8 cents a minute to Thai cellular phones.
In addition, with Broadvoice, the $20/mo plan includes unlimited calls to 21 countries (England, China, Germany, etc...) Voice quality is excellent.

Every so often I will have to call a couple of times to get through. Not very often and the quality is GREAT. I've been using Thailand express which is about 5.75 cents per minute and I just renewed my pin a couple of days ago...before this new promotion. So, I just added another pin today to get the rate. Part of the promotion for this card is that the quality is even better. Just make sure your state is one of the 36 states with local numbers. The toll number will cost more.

But my Tirac is in Thailand. Who in their right mind would want to call anyone in Germany or Austria?
Just posting my experience with callthai. It has been pleasant and hoping to save some brothers some Satang for Sanook.

I'm afraid that callthai has 3 minute rounding. Ok for long calls.
Been using click4prepaid.com--6.5 cents/min US to mobile phone. No conn fee, 1 min round, and one year expiration on card bal if maintain more than 25 cent balance. 5 cents/min if dial to BKK land line. Net phone 4.5 c/min and even mainland tollfree access 6.5 to 8 c/min. Occasional echo and occ drop--can tolerrate since 1 min rounding.

Well, callthai.net has several cards to choose from. The current promotion I am on is 2.5 cents per minute and yes that product has 3 minute rounding. But at only 7.5 cents that is still better than 8 cents per minute and a $20 a month fee. Just my 2 satang. Use what works for you and don't look back. I have been very happy with callthai.net and have yet to find anything even remotely competitive to that rate.
