Guys, I have supported Sunbelkt on here a few times over the years BUT the last several months they have been a joke, Pathetic service, obscure replies to emails and a definate lack of any professionalism below Greg Lange. Greg himself must be getting somewhat beleagured by it all I guess.
Sunbelt have not just erred, they have put me at a very large financial risk by incompetance. The floundering and lack of information or direction for my company over the last 6 months borders on criminal negligence.
There I have vented.
Now more importantly does anyone recommend an alternative ?

I went to Sunbelt for some advice last year
they wanted to charge mr about 100k to do what I did on my own for half that
yeah, I realized they have to make profit and all, but it seems they just took the original prices and just multiplied by 2
since visiting their office there they have been spamming me with some business listing, which they won't take me off the damn mailing list even after I asked nicely
all in all, f*** sunbelt, with a red hot poker

well,
I met with them regarding a bar in jomtien back in 2003...was gonna call it Jomtien Tavern..already had the biz plan complete...so glad it didnt work out (whew)..and the only reason I was interested was it was within 100 yards from the beach and about 18K at the time (45 baht to dollar) and had a 2 bedroom apartment above for me and mrs atl... (was planning on getting a couple jet ski's to rent out, if possible, and maybe some fishing/diving charters tied in with the pub)
anyway...I have gotten the same listing sheets for the past 4 years and always look them over and actually replied to a bar in Ko Chang a few weeks ago (again seemingly affordable) and was advised that an agent would contact me...never heard back from them...not pissed as it was an awesome deal and there had to have been a catch.....
I have more personal info regarding a mate and the administration there..but will not post on main board....
as Mel said...I have referred Greg and sunbelt 4 or 5 times and just hope they acted proffesionally....
maybe the new govt combined with a weak staff is making his biz more difficult....

Mel.. Sorry to hear about your problem.
Have you spoken to Greg Lange personally about it?
If not then I suggest that you do so...
atl. Sunbelt do have a a large staff and I am sure that there may be one or two that are not up to speed.
LY Just because you found a cheaper alternative is no excuse to be so aggressive. 
As for me personally, I have used Sunbelt extensively over the last few years and to be honest, they have been in the past, and still are, very professional and attentive to my needs in relation to all business matters…
JMHO.

I hate spam as much as anybody....but its kinda cool to read what you can or at least what is being proposed you can get business wise around thailand..
I especially like the fact that at least once a month a restaurant in chiang mai pops up for about 15 or 20K...then I can just sit and ponder in my office in LA about cashing out and living in flip flops..with my wife and mom in law cooking while I drink and chat with farang customers for the next several years..even if its on only 45,000 baht a month...
as a former club and restaurant owner, I know it is for sale for a reason..but the thought that I might be able to make a go of it is great..
any spam...that can take me away for a few minutes on a monday (when they usually show up in my inbox).. is cool by me...

I don’t have the need to deal with these types of companies very often but I have dealt with Sunbelt a few times. Generally speaking Greg is quite helpful but there is only so much of the business he can deal with personally. I have also have good experiences working with the Farang that runs the property division – his name escapes me at present.
An alternative company that I have used and also had good results is Indo-Siam. Steve Sykes is pretty straight with you in regard to what his company can or can not do for you, and he does not try to push a service just to make some baht.

I'll second the recommendation of Indo-Siam. I worked with them to get a company registered, and IBFarang's statement about Steve Sykes is straight on - Steve's a straight shooter, helpful, and professional. I can wholeheartedly recommend his and his excellent staff's services.

For me the costs where not the issue, yes they are more expensive but I can cope with that.
But I do require that they do their job without putting my company at risk.
I'll leave it for now and contact Greg directly ( he has always been great).
