Heres the heads up on the amazing Aussie dollar-

After the pundits here wrote it off a few months back - (and I predicted it would continue to climb)

And not just on resources - (our main stable)

Off shore traders are dumping billions on it- why?

Low unemployment-

Stable (infact most stable developed world economy)

Heres the latest - we are even higher than the mighty USA dollar now-

A bar girl wants our 100 dollar notes more to keep- or trade

1.00 AUD = 1.03966 USD as off a minute ago

::

While all nationalities lament the rise of the baht and lower values in exchange-

The Australians (Gods true choosen and "best country in world") grin and keep getting more pussy cheaper-

I hope Americans accept the fact that China is now number one in importance to many countries-

Their leader is voted worlds most powerful man after all for good reason-

:: love china too mutt::

DG,a high $A is not good for everyone.

It is bad for the tourist industry in Australia,if it caters to overseas tourists, because a high $A makes Australia a more expensive destination.

It is bad for any Australian industry which exports its products, and that includes agriculture, manufacturing and mining, because either it makes their products more expensive if they are paid for in $A,or exporters receive less if their products are priced in $US as the $US now buys less $A.

This makes those exporting industries less profitable, and this results in reduced employment of labour which is bad for anyone they employ.

On the other hand,as you point out,it is good for Australians spending $A overseas.

It is also good for Australian importers and consumers of foreign goods and services because they are cheaper, and that keeps inflation and interest rates lower.

But it is bad for those Australian producers(and their employees) whose goods and services compete with the cheaper foreign goods and services.

If unemployment becomes sufficiently widespread in import competing industries, and exporting industries it will lead to nationwide unemployment as all industries rely for their prosperity on customers who have the spending power a job provides.

Why do you think the USA is forever complaining to China that the value of their currency is too low?

Because it makes USA goods uncompetitive and results in unemployment in USA.

Why do you think China resists raising the value of its currency?

Because it makes its exports cheaper, and this provides employment for its people. The Chinese government is well aware that widespread unemployment could well result in its overthrow.

It is all a matter of getting the balance right. If the value of the $A rises too much it will not do you much good if this results in you
becoming unemployed,or your income being so reduced you cant afford to travel to LOS to take advantage of the cheap f***s.

DG,

All things in economics is about cycles.... as is all things in life..... and as George Harrison once said.... "all things must pass".....

When things turn negative, and I believe you will signs of that before the end of this year, you will feel the pain of an over leveraged economy.

To somehow believe that your economy is not overleveraged is like argueing the bar tab on the Titanic.

Here is a short video of DG explaining his viewpoint of the world:

We have to import labor (to Australia ) to fill positions like fruit pickers and farm hands -

The rationale in your arguement doesnt hold up here-

We have the low unemployment

Our 4 big banks all figure in worlds top ten-

Our mineral resources are by conservative estimates set to be solid for decades to come at higher rates than now-

We enjoy worlds most stable economy-

I personallly, import marine products which make it more cost effective-

I also run a boating business for someone, in a very affluent area - and dozens of contracts regularly improve business-

This is not America - our bankers are not stupid with loans (see why they are in top 10) we have half % wise america's unemployed and good universal health care-

I have been in Thailand 9 times in 12 months - and am partially funded to do so (now I supply imports -)

America has to get real with itself-

You cant dictate to China how it values its currency-

As I said prior for the first time an american president is no longer rated as worlds most powerful man-

As Countries like Indian emerge Australia's asendency will strenghten-

As it is we cant keep up with demand and the worlds biggest mining company *(an australian company BHP is focasting strong growth for years to come-)

We dont have 14 trillion hanging around our necks

Its ironic that Americans even preach given they are on a massive decline and riddled with unemployment poor health options and poverty in mainstream, and as a super power fading into irrevelevance as asia emerges-

During recent years, the gap between the rich and poor has increased at a staggering pace, systematically wiping the existence of the middle class from America. The United States is on the brink of sliding down to a Third World country, as it struggles with massive debts, rising unemployment and a deteriorating economy.

Some of the warning signs that indicate America's fantastic fall from a First World nation include rising unemployment and poverty.

According to Spiegel Online, the United States is recently faced with a new phenomenon called "the new poor."

In Ventura California - a luxurious resort city - about 20 percent of the residents are at risk of homelessness.

The once-rich, who have lost their homes, are now forced to sleep in their expensive cars parked in the city's corners, Captain William Finley, the head of the local branch of the Salvation Army said.

He further added that during the past months, the number of people taking advantage of the organization's free meals program has doubled. Many drive up in their BMWs to receive free food, he went on to say.

Another signal that marks the demise of America's so-called greatness is the disappearance of the middle class.

During recent years, the gap between the rich and poor has increased at a staggering pace, systematically wiping the existence of the middle class from America.

Income inequality in the US has reached a stage where only one percent of Americans own as much as 37 percent of the total national wealth.

That means that if an average CEO earned 30 times as much as an ordinary worker in 1950, today he would own 300 times as much.

Meanwhile, in its current annual report, the US Department of Agriculture stressed that some 50 million Americans were not able to afford enough food to stay healthy at some point in 2009.

It also noted that one in eight adult Americans and one in four children now survive on government food stamps. These are unbelievable numbers for the world's richest nation, Spiegel wrote.

So far, US politicians have failed to come up with solutions to the growing crisis.

"The lights are going out all over America," Nobel economics laureate Paul Krugman wrote last month. This is due to the fact that many US residents can no longer spend money because they have no savings.

Their houses have lost half of their value; they no longer qualify for low-interest loans; they are making less money than before or they're unemployed. This in turn reduces or eliminates their ability to pay taxes.

As a result, many state and local governments are faced with enormous budget deficits. In Hawaii, schools are closed on some Fridays to save the state money. A county in Georgia has eliminated all public bus services and in Colorado Springs, a city of 380,000 people, a third of streetlights have been shut off to save electricity.

In fact, the United States, which is in the wake of a huge debt crisis of above 90% of GDP, is threatened by a social Ice Age more severe than anything the country has seen since the Great Depression.

This is why last month, a leading online columnist, Arianna Huffington, issued the almost apocalyptic warning that "America is in danger of becoming a Third World country.

Has this Yankie Quantitve Easing finished yet? Selling bonds and then printing money to buy them back is only going to send the dollar south

Getting their own back on the Chinese and their crappy products
