Hi, I'm new here but I've spent a few days reading posts; this is a great forum IMHO.
From what I've read, I understand that at least one of you is in the web development field in BKK. I do appz development (online shopping, DB, etc. etc.), regular ol' site development, plus I'm a graphic designer. Is there even a fleeting chance of getting work over there in that field (or any money in it?)? Or is it better just to do your own thing, like maybe freelance internationally or run an online business? Kind of a vague question....but what got me thinking about it is the fact that while in Japan I was surprised to discover how far ahead my skills were compared to the Japanese programmers I met. Any opinions or info will be greatly appreciated!

Very hard to find work in BKK.It doesnt matter in what field.I'm computer generalist(hardware,software etc),looking for job here already 3 month,with no success.

I know a couple of succesful German IT people having their own businesses here. Not easy but not impossible. Perhaps I can introduce you to one or moe of them and just maybe something can come of it.
I have a couple of my own businesses but nothing to do with IT, other than the fact that both are Net based and one is basically 50% e-commerce. The other half being wholesale.
But it's less a job than an adventure.

edochan2, jobs are going to hard to find here in Thailand. If you are a great web designer, hook up with kmanrox, he will be here from the 25th of this month.
Most local companies will not readily hire foreigners, as there are many hassles in getting work permits.
Anyway, with some luck, who knows you may find a job, I did, in only 2 months. You will need to do a lot of networking though, print lots of resumes, name cards and go meet people in the industry that you want to work in. One of them may call on you. Fortunately, I only sent out one resume!
