Has anyone been to any of the massage parlours in Patpong? What are they like? (i.e. price, service, etc) I've had a quick look in a couple of them (I can't remember their names - both were up some stairs in between gogo bars), but did not stay. Do they actually do soapy body massages there, or do they only have beds in the rooms?

Takara is the one I recommend, there's an elevator. Patpong 1 on left hand side as you go from Silom toward Surivongse.

I agree with CJ. ÝThe Takara is small and friendly, and mostly frequented by local expats, but I've also encountered quite a few airline pilots there.
I've gone in there on a few occasions, passed up on the massage, and had some very interesting conversations at the bar with some colourful characters.
And yes, as CJ says, they do have inflatable mattresses for soapies. Check it out.

hi,
one of my favourite hangouts, for a nice quite drink at the bar or a soapy one,Takara is located on the third floor. actually u cant miss it! theres a small lift lobby in between those go-go bars, if i'm not wrong its just next to King Castle 2, u wont miss it as theres a large neon sign as well.
cosy and friendly, and u wont find crowds there too! massage start with a certain rate, any extras u just talk with the TGs. or u can ask for a full package which include soapy massage and a FJ. the Tgs are friendly as well, used to see them after their work for a few drinks!!
and i don have to pay them bar fine!!
however the rooms are pretty small, don expect Plaza or Posedon standards. bed sheets, towels and overall cleanliness is impressive! forget to mention, u can pick two girls for a sandwich too! nice, but don expect too much girl and girl actions though! hope these helps, enjoy!

nice selection of gals, but as usual do not expect 9/10 gals like the other bigger establisments. i've seen small pettie to quite "big gals" there!
but i had a couple of pretty ones there, dare i say 7/10. one thing i liked about this place is that its hassle free. u wont feel "pressured" by the mamasan cos she doesnt hurry u to choose a gal, and u can ask the gal over for a drink and get to know her better before making up your mind!
prices are from B1500 - B1800 for full package, for all i can remember, cos my bill is always piled up with drinks from the bar that i don remember how much i paid for the soapy one. however, u wont get ripped off!

Floor 3 is where the fishbowl is, and another bar, and no problem about calling the girls out, buying them real drinks not lady drinks, and chatting them up and snuggling. A good time to determine if that special spark is present, or not.
Fourth floor is where the playrooms are. Small but adequate.
Many of my old playpals from Takara have retired, or exported themselves (foolishly, and have never been heard of again.) ÝAbout the only one still working there of my old crowd is Joy, abour 21-22 and been there 4-5 years. Very slim but a lot of fun.
The charm of this place is that it is quiet and hassle-free on a street full of noisy gogo bars often defined by accompanying hassles. There's never any sort of pressure at Takara. For me that means more than a fishtank full of 250 girls (Takara has mabye 10-20 at any given time). I've been in many of the giant massage parlors here like Osaka, Chaophya 2, and 3, etc. and while they are fun, I've never bothered with any of them more than once. ÝVery impersonal places. Takara on the other hand is almost a second home.

I remember the Takara at its old location years ago. ÝDidn't it used to be owned by an army general then, and for some years after the move to Patpong 1?
There's a "playpal" Ýwho you left out - she's been there for at least 12 years - a fat Chinese-looking one with huge boobs - I forget her name.
Prices as I recall (and this may be a bit dated info) are very reasonable, 500 for a basic massage, and 800 I think for a soapie. ÝAnd as chrisboy said, everything after that is by negotiation with the playpal. Ý
The Takara's a remnant of the old Patpong when cars still drove down the street at night, and the place was wall-to-wall bars, rather than tourist shops with the occasional bar, and there wasn't a copy-watch in sight. ÝLong may it prosper!
Forgive me if my eyes get moist - I prefer the old Patpong (we're talking early to mid 80's here) any day to Nana Plaza!
