Hey all bro thinking of going for a nice cool shower during this hot season, take note of Halem massage at Petchaburi road. I was there with my 2 friends Last friday, 29 Apr 2005. There were about 20 Plus ladies in the fish tank.
The pimp told us that the rate will be 1500 baht for 1 1/2 hours for turkish bath, massage & of course special service. I tried bargaining with the pimp for 2 hours instead of 1 1/2hrs. He agreeded provided we each give him extra 100 baht tips which is 300 bath altogether.
The ladies there are so so only. We took our pick and proceed to the room. The place is a bit run down & messy. Floats are placed along the corridor area which make it look very unpleasant. The room itself is small & dim. Bathtub is also very small & have many scratches, thus making it look a bit dirty.
The lady no 167 which I took isn't gentle at all, talking loudly & very commanding. Later I found out that she had worked in singapore before. As you know singapore standard is 20mins everything must come out even the customer. if not out pay extra. So her mentality is the same, shower me for about 10 mins & turkish bath for another 10 mins. After that singapore style cat licking then sex, no massage. Damm boring. I already damm fed up with her & refuse to have sex with her asking for oral instead. After less than 2 mins complain neck pain ask me to hurry up. I ask to dig her pussy & she obliged. Kruise, let me give you a little background about Halem, so you understand why you got a substandard service.
I live very close to Halem and occasionally I have dinner at the beginning of Soi 41.
More than once I've seen busloads of Malays populating the soi. Only a few MPs in Bangkok welcome Malay whoremongers (particularly from Indian descent). Halem is one of them.
As there are not a lot of places to go for these sex tourists, probably their demands are not high. That might explain the disappointing experience.
You ended up at the wrong place.

I have been to Halem recently and my experience was a bit different.
The physical aspect of the place is as described: looks a bit run down, the plastic soapie floats are in the hallways, etc. The appearance of the girls ranges quite a bit. But I received good service for my 1500 baht. In fact, the soapie part of the service was the most skilled I have ever received.
The papasan asked for a 100 baht tip after I selected the girl.
I suspect the problem was a combination of the papasan, your own naivety, and a bad choice of girl. Almost all the papasans I have met will ask for a tip regardless of whether or not they do anything. Had you not made a special request, he would have still hit you up for a tip.
Your own naivety comes by not realizing that what deal you make with the papasan may not apply to the girl, unless you know for certain he tells the girl. And if you don't speak Thai, you won't know what he tells her. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure all 3 of you have an understanding.
As for the girl, sometimes people make bad choices. Unless you read the forum and write down the right number, looks are no indication of service. I picked a good one, and you did not. Its just luck.
Thanks for sharing, especially with the numbers. If I return, I will avoid them.
My advice to you is to not go there again, as the selection in this city is so huge you do not need to worry about availability. Get over the loss of your 100 baht each and enjoy your stay in the Land of Smiles.

I'd also add that even with each girl, the service will vary from customer to customer. I have never seen a fishbowl worker refuse a customer, and I'm not sure if they have a choice (apart from quitting their job).
If a sex worker is interested in you as a repeat client, then she will take care of you. If not, she will go through the motions and get it over with. Just because this is their work, it does not mean they enjoy it all the time. I have seen some punters at these places who smell so revolting that I left without choosing a girl. Or maybe they had bad breath. Or maybe they were of a nationality that they don't care for. Or maybe you just weren't their type. It could be anything.
It may not be good business, but it may explain why some people have good times with some girls, and why others don't.

I can give a more positive report about Harem (Halem) Massage. The two spellings on the signs outside the place is classically Thai. It's on Petchburi soi 41. I took the MRT subway to Petchburi station, exit 3 (Don Bosco school). Then I walked west about 10-15 minutes on Petchburi Road. Soi 41 is on the right side, almost opposite the big Tourism Authority of Thailand building on the left side. I got there about 6 pm. on a Thursday. I felt very welcome there immediately (more so than in some other MPs) as many of the 25 -30 girls in the fishbowl were waving and smiling enthusiastically. Several were lovely, so I picked number 101, a dark-skinned honey with a big smile. Yes, the pimp (sorry, papasan) asked for 100 baht tho he didn't do anything except tell me the price, 1,500 baht for 90 minutes, but was cool when I declined to pay him. I think a fair asking price is a good start, as I don't like haggling them down, as seems necessary at Cupidy (where the asking price was 2,500). So I paid the 1,500 and was not bothered at all by the air mattresses stacked up in the hallway (in fact I was glad to see them, they promised a good time just ahead). I also don't think the room was especially dingy or small. You want dingy and small, try some of the brothels in Cambodia or the Philippines!
Miss 101 was friendly, pretty good English, no hassles or problems. She couldn't even wait for the drink lady (30 baht for a coke and the same for a water--a reasonable price, so I tipped her the 40 baht change from 100) to leave the room before she had stripped. The bath was stimulating, and the body massage was well done. To the round bed, dim the lights, and a CBJ was followed by her mounting me and riding hard for 5 minutes, until I came. We still had maybe half an hour, so we snuggled together on the bed and talked, as her English was good enough to make a decent conversation, tho some of my Thai helped occasionally.
