Harold444. I am not understanding the math. For example Cupidy, prices start at 2000 baht. So that's 50 bucks. I agree with MN numbers 500 tip for the girl if she tries hard & makes you happy. Zero if she has attitude. 100 for the "guide" is appropriate; again if he provided you a service. Zero for starfish. If you get a starfish you should complain on the way out so maybe we don't get her. soooooo 2000 +600=2600 div 40= $65 US.

This might sound newbie but is it compulsory to tip after a session. It seems like normal practice to tip, does the girls expect this. Would they feel offended if you dont. If you tip 200 instead of 500 baht would that be ok. My dollar does not go as far as American. Thanks.

1 - Tips are always voluntary. Just like where you come from
2 - Yes, it's normal pratice, so that's why the girl expects it.
3 - Chances are slim she would be offended. She might give you the look. But sometimes that's exactly what we want.
4 - Tip her anything you're able to and willing to pay (just like paying a prostitute for her services). The chance that you will meet her again are next to none.

Well, I do feel that tipping the MP girls is a must. And I guess 99% of them will expect you tipping them.
However I also think that anything more than 500Baht is consider excessive. Again 99% of the time. they are happy with 400 to 500Baht.
My advice: unless the service is good as well as surprising you, it is not necessary to tip more than 500B.

As has been said on this forum many times by MN & others - it is not nescessary to tip someone for merely doing their job.
If long timers at MP pay 1800 & they quote me 2000 then the guide already has his tip.
In Star of Light - 500 for a BJ - means the girl gets 300. I think a tip in that case is warranted. You might disagree with me on this.
In Lolita's & SoL 300 baht is a big tip & the girls are going to be very appreciative.

Yeah, to each his own. Myself I find that tipping and being known as a good tipper brings better service. It's no different than walking into a bar or club in the west where the service staff all know you because you tip well and not having to wait in line to get in like most people do, because you regularly tip the security crew.
I see cheer guests and mamasans, etc. ignoring customers all the time. The reason is that they know there is an endless line of them who will happily pick from the bottom on the barrel and be happy with it, and because many of these punters don't provide a constant income source in terms of gratuity. Why go the extra mile? But if you put these people in your debt, which is the name of the game just about everywhere, you can make withdrawals from the favor bank just about whenever you want. You'll find out when new 'talent' comes in, who to really avoid, and who is really a good choice. A cheer guest that really takes care of you is like a good personal servant. But you have to pay your servants.

you made some good points there, however if we are unlikely to visit the MP again in the next 12 months then tipping is not quite so important.
After all, Papsan and TG are not going to remember me in a month never mind a year.
If you are a regular visitor I agree it makes good sense to leave a nice tip.

I do tend to agree with packripper in this case - tipping is assurance of future good service, IF you plan on returning regularly. Tip well, but irregularly - in other words, do not tip exhorbitantly, nor well every time - otherwise they come to expect it.
If you tip irregularly, they don't know what to expect, and will work harder to make you happy the next time.
That's how you train dogs, by the way - works with people just the same

no offense to the good cheer guest or mamasans, but I wish they would all ignore me when I go in. what happens is they usually say hello and stick to my side. too mut pressure to pick a good time girl...........maybe ill start tipping so they leave me alone.....hehehe.
