Recently, I saw three tourist buses full of middle aged Japanese men and women park in the J One parking lot. About 150 people all told.
Apparently the tour operator has an arrangement to park at J One when they visit Suan Pakkard Palace. Probably they bribe the papasans for that too.
No doubt Pack would say he parks there for the same reason.

I just come back from a 7 weeks study tour around LOS and Camboland. As as on former trips I have not been able to convince myself to stay away from J One / CP2.
While on nearly all earlier trips the portfolio of CP2 did not only seem a lot larger but also more seductive than that of J One, this time I found my former lovely #1 "252" to have left CP2 and nobody else there was exactly looking like what I was searching for. So this time J One won the competition. My offer to pappasan was 1900 and quickly accepted as he seemed to remember my face and as I arrived as an early bird around 4pm.
The service was quite pleasant while the rooms- from my point of view - do not really meet the high standards of the CP2 building.
As I never have been in other MP-places than just in these 2 I am unable to give any judgement on coamparisons between theses staffs and those ogf the other "industry leaders" in BKK :- (
BTW: I use to go by Skytrain and then walk about 10 minutes - and up to now, never any familar face was greeting me from any of the passing cars by blowing the horne

Got ripped off.. papasan quoted me 3000 but paid 2500.. but who cares in te big run? The sum is still low enough. The problem is that it makes it OK for them hustlers to up the price all the times.
Compared to other soapies.. this one had one extra feature. Don't know if it is common policy but as soon as we entered the room the vixen pushed me down on the sofa. She turned on the water and then jumped onto my lap. Off with that thin cloth covering her..
