I've walked that distance several times. Because the main road between Cupidy and Sukhumvit is one-way, away from Cupidy, the taxi driver might take different routes, so be careful.
I feel totally safe walking in the daytime, but admit that I've also done so at night.

Cupidy was a good place for me as little as a year ago. But I walked out this last time. Not because of the girls, but because of the sour puss, lying, unhelpful papasan. Young guy, standing right next to me the whole time. I saw several gals with hugh nom and a few beaming big smiles at me in my white shirt and tie after work. But this bobo really pissed me off and I decided to leave.
I asked for one of the girls to be able to come out and have a drink with me. I thought this is a quite standard way of insuring your chemistry with a given lady. No harm in buying her a drink and talking a bit. But the Thai 'frown on his face' papasan said no.. cannot, must pay first and go upstairs.
Guess busines must be good.
One customer lost... at least for a while.
Halem is right next door and there were alot of hotties the last time I was there.

bkkfella, when I have been in Cupidy, I order a water or beer and tell the papasan to go away while I have my drink and take a look. He does.
I have also had a girl come out and sit with me for a minute or two and I talk to her. I tell the papasan to go away then too. No problems. I suggest to just be assertive, you are the boss.
