Bt 2000 doesn't sound too bad. If the going rate is BT 1500 for 1 1/2 hrs inside Annies, it even looks like a steal.
As for tips, give her as much as you feel comfortable. If she was working, she may make between BT 1000 -2000 a day (1/2 BT 1500 fee plus tip x 2 = Bt 2000).
If you buy her a few things while you are away, it counts some but she will really appreciate the cash. I suggest BT 5000 but I know many would consider that too much.
So your 4 day holiday would set you back (cash) BT 13,000 - or BT 3250 per day. If you think you would normally spend that much, it fits the budget!

Just want to add to my previous note, found out today from one of the ladies they only get BT 300 out of the Bt 1500 we pay per session. I was surprised as I expected they would get more. She has never been "bought out" but said it was Bt 2000 and thought she would get BT 500 if she ever was.
Don't know if this helps in the financial equation but I guess I thought they made a higher split with the establishment.

thanks for all the v valuable info. i've not had any more emails yet from my girl but I think she's working a 12 hr day then can only use internet cafes + needs help with her english so not quite as easy as we find the net.
don't think she's a freelancer - whatever that is - + I guess I might be treating her to stuff when away but hey it'll be better than 2hrs in annie's which can seem (obviously) a bit clinical + rushed. will continue to keep you posted.

all in all it was a good time. we spent 4 days in pattaya. nice hotel but they charged me extra for my girl cos she was thai + I had to pay extra for her breakfast too.
on the other hand when we went to a cabaret her ticket was cheaper than mine.
she gave me a lot of attention + it felt good but communication was a real problem. I have no thai (but am trying to learn it) + she has v little english.
i obviously had a rather naive view that we would spend time by the pool, she reading, etc. but she can't swim + the sun seems to hurt her eyes.
by the end of our time she was spending more + more time in bed + also watching tv.
but I think some of that was down to the fact that we couldn't talk to each other.
anyway it turns out that she has developing cataracts in both eyes but can't afford the operations. in the uk it is a simple operation + free.
it hurts me to think of her eyes failing so I have offered to pay for the operation - about 20000 baht each eye - + she is v grateful. she seems to live in a kind of hostel which is only open to women. don't know how normal this is + she has a 17 year old daughter to look after.
anyway sorry for wittering on.
but any comments would be welcome.

If she's smart, she will say she has already "paid" for the operation with borrowed money from her "friend" or "sister", that's why she needs the 40K baht straight-away. 
Or maybe she needs the operation.
Mr. ok, please update us with what happens at Bumrumgrad Hospital when you pay for the operation.

Since you're welcoming comments I would suggest accompanying her to the hospital and paying for the operation directly if you want to help. If this is impossible, than I would not give her any money. Sounds cold, but scams abound in Thailand and while I respect your sympathy for this girl it really isn't your responsibility to take care of her anyway.
