Not sure where you are getting that from. I know plenty of asian customers who go to Poseidon and they have never been given a surcharge. On the otherhand some foreigners MIGHT be levied a surcharge regardless if the papasan or manager simply doesn't like you.
That's why it's called a Farang surcharge.

Most MPs have VIP memberships. Perks include a 10% extras in the form of cash credit or alcohol and the use of their VIP rooms (eg 3, 5, or larger person rooms) depending on the amount of your membership. Additionally, you can use the member rooms which are generally larger and nicer. VIP memberships start around 20,000 baht and are valid for 1 year.

This is what I pulled of their website, as of 8/15/05:
Code Pxx 2,900 Baht/round/1.5 hrs.
Code Qxx 3,500 Baht/round/1.5 hrs.
Code Sxx 4,500 Baht/round/1.5 hrs.
Code Txx 5,500 Baht/round/1.5 hrs.
Foreigner customers additional 1,000 Baht/round
For Cabin Suites additional 400 Baht/room
For Corner Suites additional 300 Baht/room
So are these prices all inclusive? From what I gather from the previous posts, you still need to tip the girl about B2000, and the mamasan B500? Getting a little steep there.

Here are my ideas on tipping. I never tip the mamasan or the papasan until afterwards. My maximum tip is 300B and that's only if I got excellent service from the provider and mamasan helped me pick a good one.
If the service from the provider is average, I do not tip the mamasan. If service was only somewhat above average, I will tip only 100 or 150B.
As far as the girl goes, I do not tip at all for average service. If service was above average, I tip 500B. If service was great, I tip 1000B. I believe in being generous if service was good, but tipping is optional, not required.

FYI - Actually, a majority of the girls are in the 2900-3500 range on the 3rd floor. A few 4500 ones and only two 5500 girls.
I believe Shaga's offer of B2000 was for an extra pop. One pop is standard for the 3rd floor. You might be able to get more if the girl likes you or try your luck on the 2nd floor.
