Maybe this question is symptomatic of having spent some years here in Bangkok.
Having been accidentally guided into Queen's Castle ( I think it was ) on Friday night,only to turn around and make a quick exit, and later in Patpong One, during a conversation with a friend, while leaning drunkenly on one of the metal packing cases at 2:00 in the morning, being constantly interrupted by a flouncy creature of the night who persisted in exposing his/her bare enormous and acquired breasts and laying them on top of the packing cases for us to admire whilst asking if we were interested in cuming with him/her, followed by a complete exposure of genitalia (?) to show that the operation had been performed, I would say that the impressions that we get of ladyboys and katoeys in their accentuation of certain female traits, movements, expressions and gestures, tend to trigger alarm bells in us when we are happily viewing the vision of a real female.
Thank goodness I don't frequent their haunts, otherwise I also could possibly get to a state of being utterly confused on first sighting a real female. I have enough to contend with at my age of remembering what to do in normal sexual relations, whatever that might mean to you, without making it more difficult by having to contend with another difference.
But even though some of these people have made themselves to look devastatingly beautiful, after a few minutes, I would think that you would definitely pick up on something that would tell you that you were not with a real female. however, I could be wrong.
As for JC, like all the other massage places here in Bangkok, they are all legitimate massage establishments with reputations to uphold and since they all operate within the law, I would say that there is no chance of anything inappropriate happening to you in them and that when you pay for your massage, that is the service that you will get, in full measure.

I stored a photo of Irene Fah as the wallpaper on my pocket pc. 3 bgs have taken a glance at the photo and each had the same reaction... "Ladyboy! Why you have photo ladyboy?"

Arrived at JC at about 7PM Sunday night. Easy to find, right across the street from Patpong. Next to the Montien Hotel which is where I used to stay 10-15 years ago. My god, how Patpong has changed for the worse since then.

Staying at the evergreen laurel which is not far from JC so went round to have a look today (Songkran day) at 2pm. There were 5 girls in the fishbowl. Spotted a nice looking one and enquired as to price. Papasan advised 3000bht!!! Told papasan I had read on internet going rate was 1900 but papasan replied that that was the rate for a thai person and as a farang I would have to pay 3000bht. I declined and started to leave and price then dropped to 2500 but still not what I was expecting and left. So appears there is a farang surcharge here or maybe due to the songkran factor.

Actually, the cashier was sitting nearby as papasan and I discussed prices and she joked that I was a big guy and I jokingly said no I am very small and we all laughed. Discussions were all very friendly and eventually price dropped to 2500bht but then I did get dropped off by a taxi so maybe the extra 600 was to pay for the taxi drivers commision but still original price of 3k bht was very high!!
