I have been to BKK 22 times in past 11 years and am supremely knowledgable,etc. when it comes to go-gos,discos,etc. --that does not include massage. I hit a couple of soapies on New Petchburi several years ago and my enthusiasm was well contained. Yet I hear how incredible the selection is at the Poseidon. But their website's feature masseuses are not even attractive  WTF? I ask in all seriousnees....Why should an experienced LOS warrior (although admitted pseudo-newbie when it comes to massage) spend 4-5,000 baht on a chick from Poseidon? What is so hot about them? You raise an interesting question. I think that seeing a girl nearly nude on stage takes some of the mystery and fantasy out of it. Not that it removes desire, mind you. But seeing the girls behind the glass at a Soapie MP barefoot in evening gowns and bikinis is a different kind of thrill. I personally love it.
From the price perspective, Nana, Cowboy, Patpong and beer bars are the best deals as you can negotiate. TTMs run 2000-3000 (after house fee and tip) for a ST, not cheap. The 4000-5000 price you mention is for the hot models and for many men it is worth it to get the kind of gorgeous lady you cannot find easily in other venues. Typical prices in a Soapie MP are 1500-2500 for 1.5 - 2 hrs.
Do go to Poseiden. You have the 2nd floor standard fishbowl and then upstairs on the 3rd floor the higher priced models which may or may not seem better to you. One option many miss is the 1st floor later in the evening after 9pm or so. Tons of very pretty girls in the lounge ready to keep you company as long as you buy drinks. Arranging to see her for more is up to the girl. I do not know what they ask or how many do not do extras. Also do not know if you can take her to a room there if you so desire. But it may be something you will enjoy.
As for the websites; Soapies do not have good website coverage as I am sure they have found they do not need to market there like say the escort agencies. But the TTMs like Angels, Teen, Patou, Oranges, Euro, Avivia do have good websites that give a good idea of what is available.

I think that we are talking about a different category of girl, here, too.
Girls who work in go-go's are of a type. And they certainly have their place in the scheme of things.
Girls who work in an upper-tier MP (like Poseidon or Utopia or Mirage) are of a different type.
This typecasting of girls may not resonate strongly with us, as we are (most of us here on this board) farang, and we are not so attuned to the Thai interpretation of beauty.
Thais consider an evening at a higher-end MP like Utopia or Poseidon or Mirage to be a higher-class diversion. Most Thais that I have gotten to know consider bar girls from the go-go's to be relatively "lo-so."
Frankly, I do not buy into these distinctions, so much, as I have no one to impress, and I could give a shit about the perceptions and opinions of most judgemental Thai people.
I am a farang. I tread gently here, and I conduct myself like a gentleman, but things in Bangkok are very much "up to me." If I want to nail a dusky-skinned honey from Issan, and she is available to me, I will do so. If I want to nail a very "white" girl from Chiang Mai with predominately Chinese features, and she is available, I will do so.
I do not care whether a girl looks more "Lao" or more "Kampucha" than another girl, nor does skin shade enter into my selection criteria. Skin attributes certainly do, like, does the girl have lovely, smooth, pretty skin? That I like. Does she have a lot of 'tats? Most of the time, I am not into that, though sometimes, it can be a turn-on. Does she have a lot of keloid scars? That can be a turn-off. But the relative shade of a girl's skin is not so important to me. I grant other factors more weight. I am not Thai.
I also think that an evening at the Mirage is a better value than an evening at Poseidon, and I think that both compare favorably to an evening on Soi Cowboy or Nana. There is no need to sit around and drink in an MP, at 110 baht per beer, and 120 baht per lady drink, as you will do at a go-go bar. There is no bar fine at an MP. There is no separate charge for a ST room. The price that you pay, starting at 1500 baht and up, is all inclusive. An evening at an MP is most of all, just a different venue, with a different ambience. I find it more sedate, more calm, more relaxing. I consider a night out at Nana or Soi Cowboy more rowdy. Fun, but fun in a different way.
For whatever that is worth.
Pen, I recommend Mirage over Poseidon, and I recommend both of those MPs over Utopia.
My recommendation is based on the beauty of the girls, the ease of the set up, the "farang friendlyness" of the joints, the ambience, and lastly, the price.

Sir, I appreciate your input. I agree with 100% of what you said about skin tone etc, not mattering to a farang. As far as I am concerned a girl is either beautiful or she isn't. It doesn't matter a damn to me where she's from as long as she is not a total bitch. I would still like to see some pics of these "models" from Poseidon or any MP,really. If they are THAT hot why are the MP's showing dogs on their websites? Someone said something about "MP's not needing to advertise,etc." Rubbish. Poseidon has a superb website and could easily post pics of these models. Thanks again to the previous poster's informative response.
