Looking forward to my visit to BKK and Poseidon in a couple of weeks. Never taken the subway there before, but noticed that there's a Ratchadapisek stop on the MRT. Is this more convenient that taking the BTS to Saphan Kwai and then a cab from there? How far is it from Poseidon and the other joints on Ratchada?

No. The closest subway exit to Poseidon is Sutthisarn. Almost as close is Huay Kwang but you walk the other way. Exit Huay Kwang and you are closer to Emmanuelle, Subway, Caesars, etc. It would be about a 5 minute walk to Poseidon.

Thanks, Badfishlbc. I would much prefer this than having to negotiate a cab ride, which are sometimes hard to get during rush hours.

IMO, the best way to get to Poseidon from the Underground is to go to Huaykwang station. Get out on the same side of the road as the Emerald Hotel.
When you come up out of the station, turn left, walk to Ratchada Road, and hail a taxi. Tell him to go straight, and tell him to go to Poseidon. It will be about a block up on your left.
If your taxi driver does not understand English, just tell him in Thai, "Dom bai, krap." That means "go straight, please."
When he says "bai nai?" you tell him "bai Poseidon, krap."
When he looks at you like you are crazy because you cannot pronounce "Poseidon" like a Thai, just tell him "dom bai, sai mu, by massage Poseidon." Then watch for it on your left. It is a huge building, on the corner.

Yeah...you can practice your Thai and deal with all that crap with a taxi or just walk a short 10 minutes from the subway station and you'll be there.

Thanks for the directions. One of the things that put me off visiting Poseidon was the convoluted journey there (when there was always so much readily available around the corner on the Suk, where I normally lodge!).
The subway sound much more convenient (and faster). Will be there more often this time and will definitely post a FR.
