I agree that it is a matter of each to their own. From my perspective, I use to frequent both establishments until about four years ago when I stopped visiting Darlings for a period of time. For me the service became too mechanical and the ladies appeared "disinterested" in what was going on. Cost of refreshments was also "off the wall" compared to other places. I have been back to Darlings at irregular times over the past 18 months but have still not been impressed.
Annies on the other hand has continued to be consistent in the "service delivery" and hence has more for my part, has more appeal. I have not tried the "model lounge" of Annies yet but may give it a go when I am in town next week. When I was there about two weeks ago there was only one lady available in that section.

From what I have read on other forums the Annie's sideline section has become super popular as it is giving performance and looks at the same time. A rare thing in Bangkok these days also they still offer rubber mattress soapy 
OK the rooms are not top at Annie's but they are surely better than the overflowing with sewage rooms of Tulip not forgetting the bare backing antics.
I also read that one guy took out all the sideline ladies on a take out one day all at one time and the next day took most of them but not all. I emailed Aey the mamsan (she seems quick on emails) and she advised me they have 20 sideline ladies at the moment. I know for sure letter B is from JC infinity and some of the other girls came from places on Ratchada maybe true maybe not but they look ok to me.
I think for 2 ladies at Eden beats Annie's hands down but for a one lady or a takeout you will be hard fetch to beat Annie's these days.

I disagree, Eden can be very overwhelming and the ladies have been doing this hundreds of times...

Living in BKK since 2000, I've witnessed Darling go the way all Thai businesses with real estate exposure eventually go. For lack of any reinvestment in the facility's upkeep and atrophied management, Darling has sadly reached the end of its useful life.
The traditional Thai way is to run the real estate into the ground, giving themselves no return on any appreciation in the assets. About 5 years AFTER it has zero value, incapable of even paying its utility bills, the owner either loses it to the bank, or just knocks it down and tries something new.
Darling used to be my favorite soapy, and I enjoyed some monster f***s there over the years. But, no more. While the talent behind the magic glass is still there, the tired old rooms allow no f*** atmosphere to speak of - musty smell, dirty everything, burned out lights.
I understand the long-time owner of Darling is an absentee owner, so relies upon managers who are simply incompetent, resting in the laurels of a time long past when Darling was a premium Thai-only venue.
There remains some meaningful talent in the fishbowl there, but their skills between the sheets is insufficient to make-up for what has become unwelcoming front-of-house staff, low quality rooms, and prices way above the offer.
It just ain't working anymore. I am sad about that. In a down economy as this, the slowest in the pride fall prey to a younger, creative generation of business predators who do "get it" - service, responsiveness, atmosphere, value (Tulips. et al).
The lease expires on Darling this year. Would be nice to see the absentee owner get religion, get rid of the addled old dawgs mis-managing the place into the dirt, reinvest in even some of the rooms, and see Darling through a rebirth.
Yes. Sure. That would certainly be nice. (sigh)

You got that one right! Been going there over the past 8 years, spent some fantastic time there with very open minded ladies but they seem be leaving the place for sponserd ralationships or Annies and Eden... Sad, very sad... Maybe I should have bought out my favorite lady so I could still enjoy at home
