To get to Utopia, is it better to get off at Thai Cultural Center Station or Phra Ram 9 Station? Once there, how do you walk to Utopia?

Not sure how enjoyable a walk that would be or even if you can walk directly from that MRT station, but to each his own. That stretch of road doesn't even have a sidewalk on the Utopia side. For myself, even after being here for a decade, that 500 meter walk in the middle of the day or even early evening would produce a rather serious sweat.

I have walked it several times from the Rama 9 station. Just head east on Rama 9 until you get to the intersection where RCA is on the right. Turn left instead up Watthana Tham Rd and Utopia will be on the left. Can't miss it with its big sign. About 1.2 km in total. There is sidewalk all the way.
Usually, when I exit Rama 9 station at the Intersection Exit (not the Fortune and Mercure exit) I check the traffic on Rama 9. If it is bad I walk. Otherwise I catch a taxi at the stand right outside the station exit. Just say Utopia... they understand. And no taxi surcharge.
Looks like the walk from Cultural Center station is actually a bit shorter. But not by much I think. And I don't know what the sidewalk situation is. My visits to Utopia were always after striking out at Amsterdam, so I never tried walking from the Thai Cultural Center.

Thank you for the information. It was very helpful. I may take a cab from the station, since you indicated that Utopia doesn't pay taxi commissions. However, I do enjoy walking and I'm in pretty good shape for someone over half a century. The distance of 1.2 km sounds like a nice walk, but in the heat, I may weaken and take a cab.

Will try to notice whether there is a sidewalk or not today. Usually I don't pay attention to pedestrians, as per the local driving tradition.

You can walk either side of Rama 9 from the station to RCA or Utopia. The sidewalk on the south side disappears when you get near the freeway entrance.
I once walked the 2.4 km from Rama 9 station all the way to La'Defense on the north side of Rama 9. If I recall, there were some crumbly bits of sidewalk near the end of the trip... but still an enjoyable early evening walk.
