Considering the new surcharge policy I won't be visiting Utopia any time soon, but I happened across a website that has photos of around 40 Utopia girls. Sites like Gdiary and Raku don't have Utopia photos, so was surprised to see this.

Utopia has a 1,500 Farang Surcharge, putting the price of the downstairs Sideliners @ 3,900.
But then no need to tip them as the Surchage is their Tip.
Nataree has no surcharge and the sideliners are 2,600, if you add the Tip then you are easily up to 3,600 (not far from Utopia)

They may expect you to tip 1000 at Poseidon, but 500 is a good tip at Mataree, and the quality of the girls can be excellent. Good value, and in particular, a great choice for some late afternoon delight. Fishbowl 2000, side liners 2300 and 2600 or, when in season, 3200 for the young Chinese girls with the pure ivory-white skin.

I usually tip 500 baht no matter where I am and haven't any dirty looks. My friend who is thai usually only tips two or three hundred baht without any problems.

Remember that in the places where a Farang surcharge Applies, you should not tip as the "Extra" money usually goes to the lady.
For Example, Utopia has a 1500 Farang surcharge and the girl gets 1,000 out of that so why tip her an extra 500?
Nataree Sideliners I pay 2600 (the ones I usually get) with no surcharge so I tip 500 if service was good and 1000 if Very good (Never happened at NAtaree yet)

I think 'to each his own' is the key phrase here.
Apples and oranges comparison wise though I think. The pretend pickup scene would be a comparison between Cowboy/Nana/Patpong type areas with say the various karaoke/g-club/and fusion type places like Pegasus.
Quality in the Cowboy/Nana/Patpong trilogy if we're going to compare to massage parlours would be in the Annie/Darling/Chavala range. Not to say there aren't plenty of dogs at the middle and upper end mps as well of course.
Myself I like getting bbbj's at places that tend to stick with cbj, and "value" wise it's all very inexpensive anyway. No need to shop at Lotus when Foodland, Villa, and so forth are just a few bucks more.

Must admit I love a good soapy,, but usually once per trip.
3K, spent in the right bar with the right girl. in cowboy has previously yielded me some excellent results,, 3 results in a single night is pretty special for me
