I read about 4-5 hours a day.. bring a good book, magazine, etc .. a nice way to rest..
If in your room, the girl can watch thai TV while you read and then when rested go at it again...
Sightseeing has never done much for me so I don't do much of that anymore.
Also, excercise can be a good in between activity .. work out, take a steam or jacuzzi .. then go for a massage afterwards ...

Bangkok is a huge city, so if you're bored with or disinterested in all the cultural stuff you can find almost whatever you want that you would do at home. Go shopping, go see a movie, find good restaurants, play sports, ....
There are places with good pool tables, but none I've found where the girls are really any competition (for a good player). But in most of those places you can find some guy who is halfway decent to play against (although I personally have more fun playing left-handed against the girls).
There's lots of posts on the board and the main website about the better pool places.

The good players don't come out all the time. Check out New Wave (on Sukhumvit Soi 7) some time in the evenings, there are some girls who play fairly well.

how about some good decent food in some really marvelous restaurants bangkok has to offer? or a nice walk in lumpini park may be to acquire some new talent or cinema or just luring around in mbk or emproium also looking for talent or jsut having a real thai massage or consulting a fortune teller. oh my god, i never have eough time in bangkok. for me every daz here could have 40 hours or more!

i'm with you. Shopping with also enjoying the beautiful indoor scenery/tallent. Eatin' some 'tasty' Thai food. Working out at the gym. Maybe watching a movie if I really have some time to kill. Playing some golf!! Maybe take in a cultural/historic tour.
But ... there never seems to be enough time to do everything or see everything.

I like to take a "rest" at STARBUCKS e.g. Chitlom, MBK or the one near Nana. Reading newspaper indoors meanwhile the little boy is taking a rest and re-filling the empty "bags" is a nice therapy. I always get a nice time in those places and the TGs/farang ladies coming in are also a bonus....

All good suggestions (I especially liked Dave's). I ppersonally feel that most of the typical tourist places are worth seing if you haven't yet. Yes, everyone goes to these places but there's a reason why they are famous. My favorite of those typical places, I still like to visit: Jim Thompson's House.
BTW anyone who doesn't know his story (most do) should read about it; interesting stuff.

I personally enjoy shopping, and frequent MBK, Panthip Plaza, WTC, and even Chatuchak on the weekends. I make it a point to always bring some bottled water with me as dehydration can set in pretty quickly if you're used to cooler climates. Also, I never fail to get a few custom-made suits/shirts whenever I'm here.
